FLOGGING MOLLY on CAPITAL CHAOS 2007 @ the Warped Tour Prior to forming Flogging Molly, Dave King was the vocalist for Fastway, a late 1980s -- early 1990s heavy metal band, featuring guitarist "Fast" Eddie Clarke of Motörhead, and later an experimental metal band called Katmandu (1991), featuring Mandy Meyer of Krokus on guitars. Afterwards, Dave King retained a record deal with Epic records and began to work on a solo album, but began to reconsider his record deal when the label opposed his idea of bringing in traditional Irish instruments. King negotiated out of his record deal to go his own way musically soon after. http://www.floggingmolly.com/ In the late nineties, King met former guitarist Ted Hutt, former bassist Jeff Peters, and fiddle player Bridget Regan. They wrote songs together such as Devils Dance Floor and Black Friday Rule, which was the beginning of Flogging Molly's unique sound. Ted and Jeff left Flogging Molly because a prior band of theirs, Reach Around, received a record deal. Dave and Bridget then began to meet the new members one way or another, and band was slowly reformed, one by one. http://www.myspace.com/floggingmolly They soon established a routine of playing every Monday night at an LA pub called Molly Malone's. According to an interview with SuicideGirls.com, then 17-year old Nathan Maxwell snuck into a show as a fan, and was later asked to join the band. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warped_Tour_2007 They soon put out a live album, Alive Behind the Green Door in 1997. In an interview with Kerrang! magazine, King stated that the band's name comes from the bar that faithfully supported the band from the very beginning, "We used to play there every Monday night and we felt like we were flogging it to death, so we called the band Flogging Molly." They were signed onto SideOneDummy Records after a show when the record company's owners attended a concert and noted their intensity. http://www.purevolume.com/floggingmolly Flogging Molly has released an independent (26f Records) live album titled Alive Behind the Green Door, as well as four studio albums, Swagger, Drunken Lullabies, Within a Mile of Home, Float, and an acoustic/live DVD/cd combo Whiskey on a Sunday. They have toured with the Warped Tour, Larry Kirwan's American Fléadh Festival and contributed to the Rock Against Bush project. They have sold in excess of a million and a half copies of recorded output as of December 6, 2006. http://www.sideonedummy.com/bands.php?band_name=Flogging_Molly On March 13, 2007, the band released an exclusive EP through iTunes entitled Complete Control Sessions. The EP includes two new tracks, as well as acoustic versions of previously released songs. On December 3, 2007 the band announced through an e-mail to their subscribers that their upcoming album would be called Float. http://www.thepunksite.com/interviews.php?page=floggingmolly On March 4, 2008 Flogging Molly released Float, an album dubbed "One of the most important CDs of the year, if not the decade" by Alternative Press. Flogging Molly also recognized the album as influential to their career as their first album recorded in Ireland (though mixed in California) by producer Ryan Hewitt. Fans met the release with great anticipation and enthusiasm, landing it at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart. This release marks the highest chart position for SideOneDummy and the Celtic Punk genre in general. While touring to support Float in 2008, Dave King married Bridget Regan in Tokyo. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flogging_Molly Honours for this video 7/20/2008 #19 - Premium Most Viewed (Today) - Music - Canada #17 - Premium Most Viewed (Today) - Music #21 - Premium Most Viewed (Today) - Music - Global #13 - Premium Most Viewed (Today) - Music - Spain #15 - Premium Most Viewed (Today) - Music - Mexico #18 - Premium Most Viewed (Today) - Music - Italy #16 - Premium Most Viewed (Today) - Music - Japan #11 - Premium Most Viewed (Today) - Music - Poland Tags: world music rock FLOGGING MOLLY irish punk dropkick murphys |

WALLS OF JERICHO (interview) on CAPITAL CHAOS 2007 WALLS OF JERICHO (interview) on CAPITAL CHAOS 2007 Walls of Jericho are a female-fronted Metalcore band formed in 1998 from Detroit, Michigan named after power metal band Helloween's album of the same name. Their first release was an EP entitled A Day and a Thousand Years (EP) (1999). Soon after the band were picked up by Trustkill Records and went on to release their first full length LP The Bound Feed the Gagged (1999) followed by All Hail the Dead (2004) and With Devils Amongst Us All (2006). http://www.myspace.com/wallsofjericho Walls of Jericho were formed following the demise of two Detroit based bands. The first being the influential Earthmover, featuring members Mike Hasty (guitar) and Wes Keely (drums). The second was a band called Universal Stomp which Aaron Ruby (bass) played in. Both bands fizzled out at around the same time prompting the three friends to start a new band. At the same time Candace Kucsulain, 2 year singer for the band Apathemy auditioned with the band. After numerous other auditions for lead singer the band accepted Candace as their new frontwoman in September 1998. For the first few months the band would perform with friends of theirs filling in on guitar however later decided to ask close friend Chris Rawson in as full time member who was able to offer more commitment to the band. With the line-up complete the five piece began touring the local Detroit hardcore scene. Soon after in April 1999 the band released their first EP on 7" through label Underestimated, which was followed shortly thereafter by a CD EP containing that 7" and demo tracks, called A Day and a Thousand Years released on Florida based Eulogy Recordings. This was later released by European imprint Genet. After continuous touring in support of their EP releases, the band attracted the attention of both Ferret and Trustkill Records. They went on to sign with Trustkill which resulted in the December 1999 release of their debut full-length album The Bound Feed the Gagged. The band hit the touring and hardcore festival circuit the following year. In August of 2000 they began touring the United States in support of straight-edgers Earth Crisis, melodic Swedish death metal band In Flames, and Oakland, CA's metallic Skinlab. After another spate of touring in 2001, drummer Wes Keely announced he would be leaving the band to finish school in Seattle, Washington. With the band based in Detroit it would prove impossible for them to continue together. Keely was replaced by ex Suicide Machines drummer Derek Grant. Five months after touring with the band Grant announced he would be leaving to join Chicago punk rockers Alkaline Trio. http://www.fotolog.com/walls_of_jericho After unsuccessful auditions to fill the vacant drummer position the band, feeling that none of the applicants met their criteria as a band member were forced into a hiatus. Shortly before this announcement was made singer Candice got herself an apprenticeship in body piercing which would occupy her free time over the next two years. Also during this time band members Mike, Aaron and Chris started a side project band called Its All Gone To Hell. For the next 2 years guitarist Mike Hasty would continue to work out of his recording studio Cloud City as an engineer working with bands such as the Black Dahlia Murder and Bloodlined Calligraphy. http://www.purevolume.com/wallsofjericho After a 2 year silence period the band would eventually see the vacant drummer slot filled by ex Catharsis member Alexi Rodriguez who called the band after returning from Germany. It was at the same time that Candace was on her way to audition for a local indie band when she received the call from Mike saying that WOJ were re-forming. In April 2003 the band began touring again playing major hardcore events such as Hellfest in Syracuse, NY. Complete with their new drummer the band began writing new material and had completed recording in September 2003. All Hail the Dead was released in February 2004, 5 years since the release of The Bound Feed the Gagged. The album was released to critical acclaim across the hardcore/metal scene and propelled the band to the forefront of the hardcore scene seeing them fill support slots for bands such as Madball, Hatebreed and Sick of it All as well as headlining tours of their own. It wasn't long after the release that the band would see the loss of their third drummer. Fortunately for the band the position was filled relatively quickly by long time friend Dustin Schoenhofer - ex drummer for Next to Nothing and Premonitions of War. The next two years would see WOJ touring extensively across the US and Europe gaining more and more support and a very loyal following along the way. http://www.roadrunnerrecords.it/artists/WallsOfJericho/ #67 - Most Linked (Today) - Music - Global 1/12/2008 #54 - Most Linked (Today) - Music - Global 1/12/2008 296 #50 - Most Linked (Today) - Music - Global 1/13/2008 335 Tags: Walls Of Jericho Metal Core Hardcore Alternative Indie Rock |

DARKEST HOUR on CAPITAL CHAOS 2007 DARKEST HOUR perform "Doomsayer" @ The Boardwalk in Orangevale, CA 10/12/07 also on the bill were UNEARTH, AUGUST BURNS RED, FATE & SUICIDE SILENCE. Darkest Hour is an American heavy metal band. Their 2007 album, Deliver Us debuted at number 110 on the Billboard album charts, with sales of 6,600. http://www.darkesthour.cc/ Darkest Hour formed in 1995 and initially consisted of vocalist John Henry, guitarist Michael Schleibaum, bassist Raul Mayorga and drummer Matt Maben. The band released its first EP titled The Misanthrope in 1996 on a local label called Death Truck Records. In 1999, Darkest Hour released another EP titled The Prophecy Fulfilled on another label called Art Monk Construction. The addition of second guitarist Fred Ziomek, bassist Billups Allen and drummer Ryan Parrish saw the band release their first full-length LP The Mark of the Judas in 2000, on the now-defunct M.I.A. Records. Due to the shift from regular hardcore to melodic metalcore, the band ignores their first two releases and refers to The Mark of the Judas as their first record. http://www.myspace.com/darkesthour The Mark of the Judas was not widely promoted or distributed due to M.I.A. Records going out of business not long after the album's release. Despite the fact Darkest Hour were left without a label, the band garnered enough exposure to catch the attention of Victory Records. Their Victory debut So Sedated, So Secure was released on August 7, 2001. After the release of the album, Billups was replaced by Paul Burnette and Ziomek left the band. The album was re-issued by Victory on March 7, 2006, and featured new artwork, re-mixed audio, re-recorded vocals and additional tracks. The band continued to tour with Schleibaum's longtime friend Mike Garrity, filling in on lead guitar duties. Eventually, they accepted Parrish's old friend, Kris Norris as the new lead guitarist, and then began to write their next record. While Garrity was the guitarist, the band was arrested and jailed in Roland, Oklahoma for alleged marijuana charges, also for "illegally imported" beer and for an open beer can. They were fined for $6000; Schleibaum was able to pay for himself, Burnette, and Garrity. Ryan and John had to stay for a couple of hours while the rest of the band had to get money to bail them out.[3] Their second release Hidden Hands of a Sadist Nation was released on May 20, 2003. Produced by well-renowned Swedish record producer Fredrik Nordström, the album signaled a shift from the band's previous melodic metalcore style to a more melodic death metal style. As a result, the album gained strong mainstream attention, to the point where they were asked to participate at Ozzfest 2004. Notably, the album contained political lyrics, with several songs criticizing American militarism post-September 11. The album was re-issued by Victory on July 13, 2004, with a bonus song and an additional DVD containing bonus material. Darkest Hour released their fourth full-length LP Undoing Ruin on June 28, 2005. The album was produced by Devin Townsend (Strapping Young Lad) at Greenhouse Studios in Vancouver. The album was the band's first to enter the Billboard 200 charts, debuting at #138 with first week sales of 8,484.[4] In early 2007, the band was in Vancouver to work on their next record with Townsend. On March 7, 2007, Victory Records issued a press statement confirming the title of the album was Deliver Us; it was released on July 10.[5] The band recently played in the 2007 Sounds of the Underground tour alongside GWAR, Shadows Fall, Chimaira, Every Time I Die, Job for a Cowboy, Goatwhore, The Devil Wears Prada, The Number Twelve Looks Like You, This Is Hell, Amon Amarth, The Acacia Strain, and Necro. Now, they will be taking part in a European tour with As I Lay Dying and will return to the U.S. to participate in Unearth's headlining tour. http://youtube.com/browse?t=t&p=1&s=mrd&c=10&l= The band has just finished their last tour date with Unearth at Toad's Place in New Haven, CT on October 28, 2007. The played along with Suicide Silence, August Burns Red, and Unearth. http://www.myspace.com/krisdh Honors for this video. #67 - Most Viewed (Today) - Music #16 - Most Linked (Today) - Music 11/05/07 #61 - Most Viewed (Today) - Music 11/06/07 Tags: Darkest Hour Metal Thrash |

FORSAKEN [Anime Boston 2007 Best Action Video Nominee] IMPORTANT: The sync is off by about half a second when viewing on YouTube. I don't upload WMV formated videos anymore for this reason, please download at the link below for MUCH better sync. :) *Anime Boston 2007: Best Action Video Nominee* *All-Con 2008: Winner For Best Action* THIS VIDEO IS PURELY FAN-MADE AND IS IN NO WAY ASSOCIATED WITH THE MUSICAL ARTIST OR ANIME COMPANY IN ANY WAY. *Update [5/01/07]: Forsaken is now available for download!* You can download a very high quality version of my AMV here: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?v=143277 PLEASE DO NOT RE-POST THIS VIDEO ON YOUTUBE. :) I will be very grateful if no one does that. Reposts = bad. Thanks and enjoy! If you don't want to download the video but want higher quality, make sure to add &fmt=18 at the end of my video's url to see it in higher quality. Like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAZzzC41Yw4&fmt=18 Doing so sometimes seems to make it a little jumpy and slightly off sync though. Make sure you let it load up all the way if you want to view it in high quality on YouTube or it will not play well at all. The idea of this video was in my mind for weeks after listening to Forsaken by Within Temptation one day. It just hit me: The lyrics almost seem to be written specifically for the movie. The song and video are about destruction of human kind as well as the whole planet due to greed and sadness. It's about technology, new developments, how people are feeling forgotten due to everyone else's desire for power, and how the world is turning into something completely different and dying right in front of everyone's eyes. Special thanks to ZelosWilder & Tasuki for help with converting and giving me support, Adam Ferraro for giving me the opportunity to be in the contest and answering e-mails from me, all the contest viewers and also to ALL of the INCREDIBLE AMV makers out there that got me into AMV making myself. Thanks to all! I hope you enjoy the video, even though YouTube's conversion resulted in much quality loss, cut effects, and somewhat off timing. Those who want to download a very high quality version of this video can go to the link above. :) Here are the lyrics to Forsaken by Within Temptation: Now the day has come. We are forsaken this time. We lived our lives in our paradise, As gods we shaped the world around. No borderlines we'd stay behind, Though balance is something fragile. While we thought we were gaining, We'd turn back the tide, it still slips away. Our time has run out, our future has died, There's no more escape. Now the day has come, We are forsaken, There's no time anymore. Life will pass us by, We are forsaken, We're the last of our kind. The sacrifice was much too high, Our greed just made us all go blind. We tried to hide what we feared inside. Today is the end of tomorrow. As the sea started rising, The land that we conquered just washed away. Although we all have tried to turn back the tide, It was all in vain. Now the day has come, We are forsaken, There's no time anymore. Life will pass us by,we are forsaken, Only ruins stay behind. Now the day has come. We are forsaken this time. Now the day has come, We are forsaken, There's no time anymore. Now the day has come. The day has come. The day has come.
