Heaven & Hell Near Death Experiences (NDE) Watching an 11 year old boy talk about what he saw and heard after being run over by his Daddy's farm tractor sparked my interest in Near Death Experiences. I remember watching him describe floating out of his body, and entering a white light filled with total love, and seeing and talking with Jesus. He went on describing what he saw and heard while in the presence of Jesus. But the thing that convienced me and made me realize that there must be something real about NDE's is when the boy told his mom that Uncle Bob said hello. His mother looked stunned when she heard that! She said that Uncle Bob had died 10 years before the boy was born, and that she had never told him anything about his Uncle Bob! Ever since hearing the boy tell about his NDE I've watched other people from around the world share simliar stories about what they experience at death. Some scientists are trying to laugh this off by saying NDE's are just hallucinations from a brain under tremendous stress from injury and trama. But what these scientists are helpless to explain is how these NDE people can re-call and describe in vivid details what they saw and heard while laying dead in the hospital. They shock the doctors with exact details of what the monitoring machines displayed while connected to their body! Many people who have had NDE are able to accurately describe what family members were wearing and talking about even though they were not allowed in the room where the body was being given electrical shocks to try and restart the heart and breathing. The thing that really captured my interest in NDE's was the similarity of events that people who had a Near Death Experience. People who never met each other from different parts of the world all sharing the same testimony of floating out of body and entering a tunnel and seeing a white light filled with total love, or others experiencing hell. The Bible says that we will give an account of everything we've ever said, done of thought of. And some of the people who have had NDE's say that they were able to feel everything that they had ever done to other people, either good things or bad things. They felt the persons joy or pain depending on what they did to the other person. One of the most remarkable NDE stories that I've ever seen was from a woman who was blind since birth. She had never seen anything, nothing at all. She had no idea what colors were, she had no idea what she looked like. She had no idea what anything looked like. However when she was in a terrible auto accident and experienced Near Death she felt herself floating out of her body, and she looked down and for the first time saw what she looked like as the doctors frantically tried to save her life. At first she didn't know what it was laying there on the street next to a damaged car, because she had never seen another human being before. Watching her NDE testimony along with many, many others has strengthened my faith in God, and I know that YES there is life after death, either in heaven or in hell. I've watched testimonies from people who have experienced the glorious beauty and peace and love of heaven, and I've watched testimonies of people who have experienced the horror, and pain of hell. Here are 2 NDE testimonies from 2 different people from opposite sides of the world. One is from a lady who experienced what heaven is like, and the other testimony is from a man who experienced what hell is like. Metallica Guitar Lesson Heya, Kris here! If one were to describe Kirk Hammett's soloing in a few sentences, I would say he uses rock cliche licks over strong metal/rock riffs (depending on which decade we are speaking about!). So let's dive into some typical rock cliche licks and investigate how we can make use of them. I am not a fan of trying to copy other styles/guitarists to 100 %, that's why I try to "steal" as much as I can from others - but eventually I'll do my best to throw it all in the bin. What I am trying to say is: Make sure to learn the techniques you are working with p-e-r-f-e-c-t-l-y, once you master them - alter them to the point that no one will recognise them. Do that for a couple of years and you will proudly be able to announce "your own style"! Oh, I included a little bonus clip in today's video, featuring me and my student Jimmie Nilsson jamming over this lesson's backing track. I have had him for three years, and he has been extremely serious about practicing - and now he rocks! :) Remember this could very well be YOU in a couple of years (regardless of your age). The trick is to take every little detail into consideration when practcing (cleaness, timing etc.) - if you are gifted with discipline don't throw your time a way, practice as correctly as possible! We Love you Baby... *sensitive content* This is my beautiful son. We will never forget you... He will always be loved. He died from a number of birth defects beleived to be brought on by Amniotic Band Syndrome and Trisomy 18. I continued my pregnancy and he passed in utero in early November. When I went in on November 8th, 2006 for an ultrasound it was discovered that he was gone. I was devestated and I know that was the worst moment of my life. I went in to be induced immediately and he was born on November 9th, at 0240 in the morning. He was 97 grams and six inches long. He was just so corageous for being such a tiny little thing. He held on so long for his Mommy and Daddy! He is our hero and we have learned so much from him about love, life, ourselves and the world around us. What an amazing impact he has had for someone who never got to say a word to us! We love you so much Sweetheart and we will hold you in our hearts forever! The letter I read to him at his funeral: "Dear David, You are Mommy's precious angel. The moment you were born was a peaceful and sacred moment between us. It was so quiet. There were no nurses or doctors or bright lights or struggling cries. Your daddy was asleep on the couch right next to you. It was then that I hesitated because I knew that I had just created a little miracle of God and at that moment I would be closer to you than I ever could be again. You were so tiny and so fragile but it would never be mistaken that you were ours. You will never leave your Mommy and Daddy's hearts. No matter how many years pass by you will always be alive in our hears and we will never fail to love you in any moment that passes by. Thank you so much, David. Derren Brown "instant conversion" part 2 First important point here: Derren Brown in an atheist and ultra skeptic. He is against all kinds of magical thinking. Second point: the thing that makes him so brilliant to watch is that it is unlikely that he uses confederates or stooges. And before we get too carried away here, the tricks Derren has used in all three videos are nothing other than those used by the average stage hypnotist. What makes it look so amazing is the presentation; it is made to look like magic, but then the man himself then debunks the explanation. He is nothing other than a charlatan, which he openly admits. In fact, he carries out these displays of magic so he can use psychological trickery and sleight of hand to show that charlatans can, indeed, dupe people so easily. The tools at work during the conversions are a combination of compliance, obedience, expectation and simple hypnotic suggestion The first thing we need to remember is that the participants were responding to an advertisement for a discussion on spirituality: they were therefore already interested in the subject whether they agreed with it or not; it could be that they were not quite as skeptical as we are lead to believe, but I don't think that variable is as important as it might first seem. It is very easy to gather personal information about people who apply for tickets to a show, which can then be used in the show itself (remember the first two conversions are very different in nature); this is a trick used by evangelists such as Peter Popoff. We are already aware of people falling back during a conversion; this image is indelibly linked with religious conversion. Additionally, before the presentation, Brown has already made people aware that he can convert people with touch. In other words, his audience is primed even before the presentation has begun. The correct ambience is created by the carefully controlled lighting (known to increase suggestibility) and the fact that he is standing at the front above the audience behind a makeshift pulpit (thus becoming an authority figure). Anybody who is aware of the work of Stanley Milgram will see how powerful obedience is: we can very quickly abandon our morality and existing beliefs under pressure from an authority figure. What makes Brown more authoritative is the presence of the evangelist, who leaves in shock halfway through the presentation, sending out signals to the audience that something scary is going on, thus inadvertently playing into Brown's hands. Listen very carefully to the second conversion, where he tells the participant that he will catch him: by doing this, he is giving him a suggestion that he will fall backwards that is harder to resist because it is indirect. He also creates fear in the participant by telling him he will not be hurt, therefore using what is known in hypnotism as a "negative suggestion": putting an idea in his head that he might be hurt by stating the opposite. Easy to reproduce: if I say: "don't think of a pink elephant", you think of a pink elephant. So, by invoking an emotional reaction, he has already exerted control over his participant. This will increase his suggestibility. The statement he makes to the first participant is "you don't believe in anything", accompanied with body language deliberately designed to appear judgmental. Never underestimate the importance of non-verbal communication. Note how he doesn't mention God at this stage: "you don't believe in anything." He is very sneakily amplifying her skepticism to look like cynicism, thus embarrassing her. And he does this so casually, in a way that makes it look like he was talking about God. This is a very powerful technique used by barristers and attorneys to catch defendants and witnesses off guard. Additionally, she may think that the rest of the audience are already converts (we know from watching the clip that they were not, but individual members did not appear to know each other). This would then make her feel even more uneasy. This brings in the final variable: compliance. Notice how the whole crowd falls after seeing the first guy do it. In the 1950s, Asch showed just how powerful compliance is (even more powerful than obedience). Have you ever wondered why we change when we get into a crowd? How a bunch of respectable people with successful careers suddenly turns into a mob of violent and dangerous hooligans at a football match? Compliance is an inordinately powerful phenomenon. To conclude, Brown is using a combination of tried and tested psychological techniques combined with hypnotic suggestions. It is easier than you think to do this kind of thing, hence the prevalence of scumbag evangelists and mediums. So, although there is nothing magical going on here, there's nothing fake about the psychological techniques: the Chinese thought reform program used precisely the same these techniques to convert people to Communism.
