Part 4 of 6 8th Mariinsky International Ballet Festival This is part 4 of a 6 part showing of the 8th annual International Ballet Festival held at the Mariinsky Theater in March, 2008. These videos show many clips of several performances during this festival, including clips from all 6 Swan Lake performances during the festival. Part 1 consists of a new ballet choreographed in Russia by Kirill Simonov entitled " The Glass Heart ". The main dancers in this piece are Ekaterina Kondaurova , Maksim Zyuzin and Islom Baymuradov. All 3 of these dancers are soloists, not principals, at the Mariinsky Ballet Theater. Part 2 begins the set of 6 Swan Lake performances. There are 3 casts in part 2. The first cast is a pair of Mariinsky Ballet stars, Diana Vishneva and Igor Kolb . Then comes the American Ballet Theater principal ballerina , Gillian Murphy , and her Mariinsky Ballet partner Andrian Fadeyev . The last couple in part 2 is Bolshoi Ballet ballerina, Maria Alexandrova , and her Mariinsky Ballet partner, Danila Korsuntsev . Part 3 begins with the continuation of the Alexandrova & Korsuntsev performance. Then Mariinsky Ballet ballerina, Viktoria Tereshkina , performs with American ballet Theater principal dancer, Angel Corella . Next to perform is London Royal Ballet ballerina, Tamara Rojo , and her Mariinsky Ballet partner, Igor Kolb . Finally, this part ends with part of the performance by Mariinsky Ballet ballerina, Uliana Lopatkina , and her Mariinsky Ballet partner, Ivan Ivanchenko . Part 4 starts with the entire section shown in the Lopatkina & Ivanchenko Swan Lake . Then a modern choreography is performed in the ballet entitled "For 4", staged by Christopher Weldon . The four performers are 3 Mariinsky ballet male dancers, Alexander Sergeyev , Mikhail Lobukhin and Leonid Sarafanov . The fourth dancer is Angel Corella. This part ends with the opening section of Carnival. Part 5 starts with the entire section of Carnival performed by Mariinsky Ballet dancers, Evgenia Obraztsova , Yana Selina , Vladimir Shklyarov and Islom Baymuradov . The next piece is the Alberto Alonso choreography of Carmen , performed by Uliana Lopatkian and Ivan Kozlov . Then comes Roland Petit choreography of Thais performed by The Bavarian State Ballet in Munich principals , Lucia Lacarra and Cryil Pierre . This part ends with the beginning solo from Talisman. Part 6 ends this program and begins with the entire section shown from The Talisman performed by Mariinsky Ballet dancers, Tatiana Tkachenko and Mikhail Lobukhin . Then Copellia is danced by London royal Ballet stars, Alina Cojocaru and Johan Kobborg . Next comes The Dying Swan performed by Mariinsky ballet star, Irma Nioradze . Then Uliana Lopatkina dances again with Ivan Kozlov in the Hans Von Mannen choreography of 3 Gymnopedies . The last performance shown is from Le Corsaire with Mariinsky ballerina, Alina Somova , and Angel Corella .
