Never Neverland - Peter Pan - Better Version! So the comment comes up a lot about why the lyrics are "second to the left" when it is clearly supposed to be "second to the right". We luckily, Scott Alan commented on my video about this when it became an issue. He says, "Thank you so much for this beautiful video. So happy your hard work is being noticed. Just to clarify, there is a line in the song that says 'Thats the story as I recall,' and that is why the lyric was originally 'second to the left' ...cause it was in the script for Piece ...but that confussed people, so as this demo was done a few years back, the new version is now, as theycallmemimi has mentioned, second to the left and straight on till morning, or was it second to the right.' ..." So thank you for your close observation of this song and my video! . . . Lyrics!!! She'd tell me about Captain Hook and all of his men who followed Peter with a hook replaced as his hand. In those tales bad guys seldom did win so the Captain was eaten and Wendy had twins. Well that's the story as I recall, but I may have made up the end. I don't remember much at three feet tall except for when I'd say Mom, Let me go to Never Neverland and let me fly for one day, an throw that fairy dust in my hair so I can pretend I'm flying away! I'm flying away. Well to my surprise I grew up to fast and that easy life of Tinker Bell never did last. So I silently dreamed my self far far away so that I could be immortalized like Peter one day. And that's my childhood as I recall, though in some ways it never did end. Now I'm standing, well, a little bit taller. Except for when I say, Mom let me go to Never Neverland Let me fly for one day and throw that fairy dust in my hair so I can pretend I'm flying away. I'm flying away. And though life is never easy as we as children read in the books where fairy dust could just fly you so far away. All I ask is that you leave me my imagination so I can pretend I'm flying away. PLEASE READ ok heres the story..Hook took wendy captive and made a deal with her, threatning her life, he told her to bring peter pan to him, she stayed as far away from peter as possible after that..but peter found her and asked her to come with him (he was planning on telling her his true feelings that night) ofcourse hook was tailing wendy so he was watching and wendy knew. Peter Pan (1960) Original Broadway Musical Trailer !!!!!!!!! This is #1 America's best musicals in history ever, starting with this classic theatrical trailer of "Peter Pan." (1960). Starring: Mary Martin, Cyril Ritchards, Sondra Lee, Margalo Gillmore, and featuring: Maureen Bailey !!!! Plot: Mary Martin originally starred in the Jules Styne/Carolyn Leigh/Comden & Green musical version of James M. Barrie's Peter Pan on Broadway in 1953. On March 7, 1955, Peter Pan was restaged for television, live and in color, on NBC's Producer's Showcase. The telecast was so popular that it was repeated, again live, the following year. Blessedly, Mary Martin returned to commit Peter Pan to videotape in 1960; this version was first telecast on December 8 of that year. Forty-seven years old at the time, Martin is utterly enchanting as Peter Pan, the little boy who won't grow up and who whisks Wendy Darling (Maureen Bailey) and her brothers Michael (Kent Fletcher) and John (Joey Trent) out of their London nursery and off to Never Never Land: First star to the left, then straight on till morning. Song highlights include I've Gotta Crow, I'm Flying, I Won't Grow Up, Neverland, Ugg-a-Wugg and Hook's Waltz. As with the Broadway version, the staging and choreography was in the more than capable hands of Jerome Robbins. Cyril Ritchard shamelessly hams it up as the wicked Captain Hook, and also doubles as the more benign Mr. Darling. Both Martin and Ritchard re-created their Broadway roles, as did Sondra Lee as the incongruously blonde Indian princess Tiger Lily. Martin's daughter Heller Halliday also appears in the minor role of Liza the maid, while the whole wonderful package is narrated by Lynn Fontanne. Repeated several times into the 1970s, this full-color version of Peter Pan was put into mothballs for several years, then retelecast (complete with the old NBC Peacock logo) in 1989. For this return engagement, the play was edited to accommodate extra commercials; happily, the complete version of the 1960 Peter Pan is now available on videocassette.
