Boss Creatures Tribute: Korn - Make Me Bad This video (with footage that is NOT me playing, and I credit the clip sources) is a tribute to modern video game boss creatures and their desires to fight with the games' protagonists, as well as whether or not it 'makes them bad'. Boss battles are often fun and exciting, a staple of videogames today, despite the simplicity of some and the frustration others can bring. I know that Make Me Bad is about singer John Davis' sexual desires/dilemmas (go to http://www.answers.com/topic/make-me-bad to see what I mean), but I was actually inspired to do this after I saw AJ Johnson's awesome Jason Voorhees/Korn 'Make Me Bad' Hybrid video, a tribute to that killer from the Friday the 13th movies. That video combined the song's aggression with Jason's aggression with great syncing and was really cool. In July 2006, I decided to combine footage of El Gigante from Resident Evil 4 annihilating Ganado Villagers from its cutscene with a chorus line ala the Jason video to see what it'd look like, with the 'aggression factor' going and then did another verse with the Salazar Hybrid boss introduction. I was satisfied, but didn't know where to go from there, until my mind flashed with ideas relating to boss creatures and the rest was history. I didn't particularly feel concerned about what the song's true meaning was, at least compared with my experimenting with how I could synchronize clips to music. I'll mention that I didn't have any means of getting my own footage when I got this video done. Someone who didn't mind acting like a nuisance troll made a hate comment about this video because of that and the music, but it really doesn't guarantee that a video will be bad. It still took effort to compile and synchronize. I know that some people can't stand Korn (as the video tends to a very wide audience), and I'm not a huge fan of them myself; I just think that some of their songs sound cool. I find the lyrics to apply to some annoyances one may generally find in his or her own life. 'Make Me Bad' actually can involve any aspect of life in which a person does something bad while thinking its good, regretting it, and wondering if it makes him/her evil, while being trapped in an inescapable world and going crazy. For the boss creatures, they are usually pawns of a larger enemy, a true evil, indirectly or directly. They're monsters, but not villains, the two of which are often more different than people realize. The video's got a few minor subliminal messages but for a jumble of a video with a degree of corniness it's been mostly (ahem) well received so far. Oh, and this only involves 3-D games; sorry if you're looking for a tribute to old school bosses but that wasn't my focus here. Melee -Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards -Metroid Prime -Metroid Prime 2: Echoes -Resident Evil 4 AKA Biohazard 4 -Wario World -Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction -Spongebob Squarepants The Battle for Bikini Bottom -God of War -Silent Hill (movie) -Jaws Unleashed -The Matrix: Path of Neo Apologies for the games/bosses NOT featured here, but there are some games I just haven't played or even seen footage of yet, but hope to in the nearer than farther future. Maybe, in time, a second bosses tribute could be done, but it's not a certainty, though I've taken all requests for other games in the comments into account. The music is from: Korn - Make Me Bad Killswitch Engage - When Darkness Falls Now, it took me MONTHS to find all of this and get it right with Windows Movie Maker, and I credit each and every source, again (if you don't believe me, watch the credits). As for the credits song, I find that particular song pretty cool too but with a more obvious connection to the footage than Make Me Bad has.
