In fact, even the fourth great invention from ancient China, gun powder, was accidentally found when the natural element, sulphur, was used in an attempt to create the elixir of life. Besides cultivation practice, gunpowder was also known to be used in Chinese medicine, fire crackers, and only later, warfare. Speaking of wars, many dynasties came and went over the course of China's thousands of years of history. The rise and fall of its dynasties came about when the emperor of a dynasty was no longer virtuous. Back then, there was not a concept of politics, but rather people talked about the virtues required on how to administer a country and the merits necessary to rule as a king. In today's Five Thousand Years segment we will introduce the invention of gunpowder.
