Tehtube's B3 Hammond organ - demo v. 2.10 I created this lightweight, very cheap and fat sounding Hammond B3 organ assemblage. Conception: many organist use standard presets, not pulled always the drawbars. I sampled organ waves from one of the best sounding Hammond B3 - 1961, and designed with this samples to 21 presets. Included the complete lower, upper foldbacks, keyboard tapering, like a loudness swell volume pedal, screaming, crying bright chorus vibrato. This crying chorusvibrato are not sampled, I programmed from straight sound in the ESI sampler. Small compromise: percussion original, but polyphonic. Organ output: sub, via Leslie and other tones (pianos, synths...) output: main, direct to PA. Sound source: EMU ESI4000-ESI2000, ESI32sampler 4kg. Operation system 3. Two midi master keyboards in waterfall position: Roland A-33 7kg, Fatar SL161 5kg. Enough for live gigs. Pa: Motion Sound KBR-3D 35kg tube preamped, miked leslie and stereo synth box. Cheaper alternative: Boss RT-20 leslie effect+active box. Usage is easy: play and only preset change, selective vibrato switch on/off or adjust, vol/swell pedal. I use Steinway, Yamaha CP, Rhodes mkI, Wurlitzer, Clavinet pianos, Harpsichord, Farfisa, Vox organs, Violin, Flute, Choir Mellotrons, Prophet5, Juno106 synths, Fender bass, motor sounds. Unreal Tournament 3 BETA DEMO As on a small request I put on some footage from the rather fresh UT3 BETA/DEMO which can be found on any major site for gaming demos and files. Videos are exported into .WMV, which has a FPS -cap of 25FPS. I'm playing against bots, I want to get that out right away. Not becuase I don't have the balls to go online or whatever, the networking just sucks major ass in the BETA - that's where the conflict is. We'll try to hook up a few computers and play lan this, or next, weekend, so I'll probably give you some human-to-human footage then. The game looks nowhere close to the quality of the previous footage shown, but as expected as the stuff we saw earlier obviously wasn't realtime. But the game looks absolutley solid, especially the textures on your hands and wrists, super-sharp textures right there, but weapons can lack the texture quality and general finishedness, but as said, still looks solid. The most interesting addition to the game is the Impact Hammer, it just has such a fantastic feel to it when you pump it up and just get close and splash those bastards right up theirs. Music could have been better, right now the music is just there but you'd probably not even think of it that much - needs some work there along with the weapon models and quality of those. I was running highest settings (16xAF, all that stuff) but without the Anti-Aliasing, while recording I hit a average 37FPS which isn't too much of a decrease over the original 42FPS - performance is still kind of bad on the 2900XT due to drivers, if there won't be a small hotfix for it there'll certainly be spicier performance in Catalyst 7.11/8.0. Chromatone demo (Super Mario bros.) This is my Chromatone keyboard-- I discovered it while I was studying abroad in Japan, and I liked the concept so much that I bought one. The basic idea is that the notes are a spaced equally, like a guitar fretboard, so that you can transpose to any key with the same fingering. It's actually lot less complicated than it looks, and I think it makes more sense than the traditional layout. The original keyboard was designed by a man named Paul von Janko in the late 19th century.
