Dear Diary, i have started writing to you so that after Teresa is born, I will be able to remmember all the interesting things that happened to me here. This is the strangest place i've been. I've heard about it all my life. --------- 2. Parents in Blackstone always threaten their children with being sent away to the asylum {} on the heill, but now that i'm inside, it doesn't seem so bad. Maybe when I get out I'll write an article for the Chronicle about it. --------- 3. I think its strange that the nicest people here are the immates. That surprised me. I expected the doctors and nurses to care more about the patients, but they' re so busy they hardly have the time. -------- 4. The people who really runt he asylum are the attendants. We only see a real doctor once each week. The attendants are the ones whot make the rules, and everyone is very careful not to get them mad, because you can end up in the hydra {} or Solitary or even worse. -------- 5. Dear Diary, Today, Dr.Metcalf himself came to visit me. He is a very famous man who has gifts from other famous people all over the world, like the stuff on his mantlepiece and the {} her keeps in his desk drawer. -------- 6. Dr. Metcalf told me that i was very sick. I told him i felt fine, but he just shook his head. He said tomorrow he was going to take me down to the Furnace room in the basement which is pretty strange because i've never heard of a patient going in there for treatment. -------- 7. Oh well, we 'll see what tomorrow brings. I'll be sure to write you at the end of the day. -------- stuck pages ------- --------- 9. He told me i needed to learn the difference between fantasy and reality, and then he threw the book right into the furnace! I couldn't believe he would do something so mean! I take back what i said before about this place being not so bad. I want to go home. --------- 11. Dear Diary, i told you yesterday how Dr.Metcalf took me down to the furnace room and the horrible thing he did thee. Well, today he took me down there again, only this time it was my baby blanket. I had saved it since I was a baby and i was going to give it to Teresa. -------- 12. Now i don't know what to do. Tommy's in Korea and my parents wont talk to me. The only visitor ive had is martha, and she had to sneak out of the house to see me.She bought the nicest present.It's a cigarette lighter abazred(?) like a dragon. I'm very lonely. --------- 13. Dear Diary I've been talking with some of the other immates, and thigns arent as nice here as I thought they were at the beginning. I thought everyone had their own room, but that isnt so. --------- 14. Some wards ar eso crowded you could walk on the beds from one end of the room to the other without even touching the floor. I ve alas learned that Dr.Metcalf is mean to more people than just me. Tommy hasn't written me a single letter. ---------- 15. Dear Diary This is the last day i will be writing you. i ve decided i dont really want to remmember the things that are happening here. After Teresa is born, i will take her and leave this place and never think about it again. ----------- 16. I don't think anyone will ever understand how horrible this place is.
