Selene Belltower's Dark Story Read first. This is a tribute video to my favorite character from the Sweep series by Cate Tiernan. It's about Selene Belltower's life. Actually it's about the beginning of her quest for Woodbane Power. It starts off with her falling in love with Patrick, a dark Woodbane witch. He dies and she finds his coven's Book of Shadows. She reads it and realizes that she wants to be exactly like her dead lover. So she travels the world, and finds another coven that Patrick belonged to, and they teach everything they can about gaining power and magick at all costs. Then she begins the dynasty coven of Amyranth. But she falls in love with Daniel with whom she has a son named Calhoun. She uses Cal to get with good Woodbane witches who have immense power, and then she rips the power from them. Now she's found a powerful witch named Morgan, who will never surrender magick without a fight... The quotes come from the book "Spellbound," by Cate Tiernan. Sonic Adventure 2: Battle Dark Story speedrun [33:41.70] (1) Iron Gate through Sand Ocean So here it is, the current World Record for Sonic Adventure 2: Battle's Dark Story. Please save your comments for the last part. Anyways, on with the commentary. Iron Gate and Hot Shot went the same as always. Dry lagoon had nice emerald placement, and thankfully did not stick me with Oasis Jail. Sand Ocean has a noticable 10 second improvement over usual, which you'll have to check out for yourself. Sonic Adventure 2: Battle Dark Story in 35:44.37 (1) Iron Gate through Sand Ocean That's right, I'm at it again. A nice two-minute improvement, too. The beginning is a little rough, but it gets quite good towards the end. Iron Gate could have gone better, as could Dry Lagoon and Sand Ocean (I swear I had that dynamite pack). Sonic Adventure 2 Battle Dark Story in 35:44.37 (2) Radical Highway through Lost Colony Ugh. Radical Highway had some issues. The ramp overshot the pole, I missed a pole near the end, and the bridge skip could have gone more smoothly. Egg Quarters seemed to really hate me this time. All three keys were in locations I'd never seen before. That's the reason for the big 2:00. If only I'd started toward the Snake Altar, I would probably have sub-35 right now. Sonic Adventure 2 Battle Dark Story in 35:44.37 (3) Weapons Bed through Sonic 1 Right here is where the run starts to pick up. I saved enough time to fit Sonic 1 in at the end. Weapons bed went very well. Only the boxes at the end didn't go right. Tails 2 also went excellently. Security Hall had decent placement, and thankfully the safe was on the blue floor. Flying Dog could have been better. I messed up the instant hit and blew all the cycle-skips, getting a fairly standard :53. White Jungle is pretty good, with few errors. Sonic 1 went WAY better than last time (ie, no death). Had a little trouble with the third hit. Sky Rail was about the same as always, and Egg Golem went fine. Mad Space decided to give me a mediocre placement, and was not very cooperative on the second emerald. Knuckles was again killed before the floor opened, which is the most important thing. SS Sonic Adventure 2: Battle Dark Story in 37:39.15 (3) Weapons Bed through White Jungle. I was a little too cautious in Weapons bed. Probably could have saved over 5 seconds if I had just gone for it. Tails 1 went fine. Security Hall I messed up on the last emerald's clue, but it's still a great time. Flying Dog went well, pulled off the immediate hit and cycle-cancel tricks on it. White Jungle had about 5 seconds of mistakes. The one after the Light Dash skip is most noticable. Sonic Adventure 2 Battle Dark Story in 35:44.37 (6) Final Chase and Sonic 2 Well, this is the end, and Final Chase has no deaths, though largely because I wimped out on the gravity tubes. But I REALLY did not want to die now at that point. Would have equaled my time from last run, but I had this weird glitch where I got stuck on the last gravity tube. I've never had that happen before. Sonic 2 went fine. Nailed nearly all my hits. SS Sonic Adventure 2: Battle Dark Story in 37:39.15 (6) Tails 2 through Sonic 2. I didn't die on Tails 2, which is a VERY good thing as that's probably the biggest dying point. I'd like to say now that I HATE Final Chase, and you'll see why in the video. Biggest mistake in the run is the death here, costing a whopping 50 seconds. I only kept it because it was so close to the end, I figured I might as well finish it out. Sonic 2 went OK. Missed the last hit a few times. Also, I'm wondering if I should submit this to SDA.
