..." ZACHERLEY and Lou Inzeo. 2006 My good friend for 18 years "ZACHERLEY!". Chiller Theatre Expo. 2006 In the annals of modern entertainment, you would be hard-pressed to find anyone who's had a longer and more richly-varied career than John Zacherle. Recording artist, television star, announcer, disk jockey, emcee, Zacherle has capably filled these roles and several others. Yet it is for one role that Zacherle has attained show business immortality. For baby boomers, he will be remembered as the best of the horror hosts in the form of his creation, Zacherley, the most clever, most original and funniest of a once thriving breed. Little Baby Zach John Zacherle was born on September 27, 1918 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His childhood was normal and seemingly uneventful. One interesting fact about Zach's youthful years was that his parents were strict and refused to allow him to see the horror films that were all the rage among young theater goers in the 1930's. Zach grew up in the Germantown section of Philadelphia and graduated from Germantown High School. His good grades gained him entry into the University of Pennsylvania where a Bachelor's degree was attained in English Literature. Zach's graduation from college and the outbreak of WW II coincided, with Zach enlisting in the army and seeing action in Europe and North Africa, and eventually attaining the rank of major. Major Zach Returns Home Returning home to Philadelphia at the conclusion of the war, and in the army reserves. Zacherle took his time finding the right job. Someone mentioned acting and this lead to Zach's audition with a local repertory group called the Stagecrafters, who were based in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania. Zach was living at home and enjoying his leisurely life-style and the various parts he was able to get with the Stagecrafters. Remember, this was the early 1950's and people were trying to enjoy the serenity of the postwar world. Tags: Chiler Ghoul Halloween horror Inzeo JAWS Lou Video ZACHERLEY Theatre |

Chiller Theatre Expo Would have replaced Larry Hagman as J.R. in "Dallas" (1978) if Hagman decided not to return to the series because of contract negotiations. There was a storyline already to explain JR`s new face: a bullet had struck him right in that evil smile and he would require plastic surgery, and when the bandages came off there would be Robert Culp. However, the pay dispute was resolved and Hagman came back. He is a poker playing buddy of Hugh M. Hefner as a result, he is a frequent guest at the Playboy Mansion. Father of Samantha Hallie Culp, from his marriage to Candace Faulkner. Wrote a pilot script in 1964 for an espionage series to star himself, but opted for "I Spy" instead. Phantasm's Angus Scrimm and Lou Inzeo Description: The evil screen villain Angus Scrimm well known as "The Tall Man" in Don Coscarelli's "Phantasm" (1979) and its sequels grew up in Kansas City, but in his teens moved to California and studied drama at USC under William C. De Mille. The very first film role for Angus was another "Tall Man" in the history books. He played the role of Abraham Lincoln in an educational film made by Encyclopaedia Brittanica which led him to a steady career in theater, television and film. Scrimm made a foray into acting with his big-screen debut in the 1976 feature Jim, The World's Greatest, which was directed by then 18 years old Don Coscarelli. During this time he was using his birth name -Lawrence Rory Guy. He adopted the stage name "Angus Scrimm" three years later for his performance in a Coscarelli's horror/sci-fi opus Phantasm (1979), which would mark Scrimm's permanent impression upon modern cinema. His role as the infamous Tall Man has earned him the praise of critics world-wide, as well as a large following of fans. His success in the 'Phantasm' films has been parlayed into numerous other malevolent roles including, the evil Dr. Sin Do in The Lost Empire (1983), Vlad the Vampire King in Subspecies (1991), and as the nefarious Dr. Lyme opposite Nicolas Cage and Charlie Sheen in Deadfall (1993). Scrimm did intriguing double duty as the diabolical Seer and the angelic Systems Operator in Mindwarp (1990), co-starring Bruce Campbell. He did a shock cameo in the Italian film Fatal Frame (1996), opposite Christopher Lee and Donald Pleasence and managed a gleeful parody of himself as hulking henchman in Transylvania Twist (1990). But Scrimm has not limited his career efforts to simply acting. As a journalist he has written and edited for TV Guide, Cinema Magazine, the Los Angeles Herald Examiner and other publications. He has also written liner notes for thousands of LPs and CDs for everyone from classical music to jazz, from Frank Sinatra and the Beatles to Arthur Rubinstein and Itzhak Perlman. He won a Grammy award for best album liner notes. Tags: Phantasm Angus Scrimm Lou Inzeo |

Richard Anderson and Lou Inzeo. 2006 Chiller Theatre Expo. 2006. Richard Anderson appeared in high school plays, served a hitch in the Army and, upon his discharge, began doing summer stock, radio work, a movie bit part (a wounded soldier in Twelve O'Clock High (1949)) and all the other minor jobs required of your basic struggling actor. He did comedy scenes on a "screen test"-like TV series called "Lights, Camera, Action!" (1950) and impressed the right people at MGM, who offered him a contract. After leaving MGM he continued to dabble in movies while at the same time becoming a huge presence on TV. He was a regular (Police Lt. Drum) during the last season of TV's "Perry Mason" (1957); in the series' last episode, he interrogates witnesses to a murder in a TV studio--the witnesses being played by the "Perry Mason" crew. In the high-rated last episode of "The Fugitive" (1963) he plays Richard Kimble's (David Janssen) brother-in-law, and is briefly suspected of being the real killer of Kimble's wife. A regular on "The Six Million Dollar Man" (1974), Anderson has more recently produced the TV-movie reprises of that series. Tags: Anderson Dollar Inzeo Lou Million Richard Six Chiller Theatre Man |
