1986 Kirov Gala 5 of18 Notre Dame De Paris Mezentseva Kovmir In 1986, the Kirov Ballet came to the United States for the first time in 22 years , last visiting in 1964. This was a short tour and the only major northeast city that was visited was the Washington area at Wolftrap. This is one of the performances form this tour and it is the only performance that did not use the corps de ballet. All the dancers were principals or soloists. Therefore, this performance is very unique because there was no other performance like this one. This is the fifth part of 18 parts featuring Galina Mezentseva and Nikolai Kovmir in the pas de deux from Notre Dame de Paris choreographed by Roland Petit. Mezentseva graduated from the Vaganova Academy School which had an 8 year program, based on the teaching of Agrippina Vaganova .
