The Cottage Trailer - In UK Cinemas 14th March - Pathe In the dead of night, a car arrives at a secluded country cottage. The Diving Bell And The Butterfly Trailer - 8th Feb - Pathe On December 8 1995 at 43, Jean-Dominique Bauby, inventive and charismatic editor in chief of the French magazine Elle suffered a massive stroke and his brain stem was rendered inactive, his life was changed forever. After lapsing into a coma, he awoke 20 days later to find himself the victim of locked-in syndrome - mentally alert but a prisoner inside his own body, his only means of communicating with the outside world the blinking of his left eye. Forced to adjust to this unique perspective, Bauby created a new rich world for looking into himself to find the only two things that weren't paralyzed, his imagination and his memory. At The Maritime Hospital in Berck-Sur-Mer, in Nord Pas de Calais France he was taught an alphabet, a code in the order of the most frequently used letters in the French alphabet. Letter by letter, painstakingly words, sentences and paragraphs tell the story of a profound adventure into the human psyche and into the battle between life and death. This alphabet unlocked the prison of Jean-Dominique's body which he called his Diving Bell and travelled the borderless regions of freedom that he called The Butterfly. Dick Rivers et les Chats Sauvages- Twist a St.Tropez ( 1962 Chats Sauvages est un groupe de rock français, apparu en 1961, qui a connu d'emblée un succès national avec des disques enregistrés pour la firme Pathé. Il fut le principal concurrent des Chaussettes Noires. Rose Avril - Tes Mensonges : her famous tango (ca 1942) The lovely Rose Avril (1920-1973) sings her most famous recording : the tango "Tes Mensonges" (Your Lies). The record was made in 1942 and although earlier versions exist it is her version that is best remembered today. Rose Avril started her recording career around 1938 and became a popular singer during the second world war recording "exotic" titles such as "Querida", "La Morena" (both Paso Doblés),chansons like "Le premier rendez-vous" and some French versions of Zarah Leander songs (See my channel for "Chaque soir j'attends l'amour/Jede nacht ein neues Glück"). After the war she continued her career succesfully but withdrew from show business in 1958. She retired to the Côte d'Azur, where she died - too young - in 1973. About the record I apologize for the sound quality the record I have is in bad condition (as you may see from the pictures). I hope to find one in better condition one day. It is recorded as it sounds and I hope you will enjoy this lovely song.
