Technologies and applications of interactive flood simulatio Google Tech Talks May 15, 2008 ABSTRACT Severe flood disasters may frequently occur in near future because global warming will change the flood risk. To prepare the disaster, we propose global flood simulation software which simulates flood flow in short time on an earth viewer (i.e., global geographical information system). User can edit a flood scenario such as the location of levee failure by clicking on the earth viewer, then the software simulate the flood flow based on fluid dynamics. The simulation and GIS communicate each other using our technology, the flood information are visualized on the viewer even during the simulation. I will make a presentation about the technology and show how to work our flood simulation software. Speaker: Satoshi Yamaguchi I specialize in the geophysics, hydrodynamics and software development such as geographical information system (GIS). I conduct a research on flood disaster and develop flood simulation software on our original GIS for a number of years in Hitachi Central Research Laboratory. I studied physical oceanography in Tohoku University and received masters degree. Tags: google techtalks techtalk engedu talk talks googletechtalks education |

The LabelMe dataset and its applications to scene and object recognition Google Tech Talks August 15, 2008 ABSTRACT We seek to build a large collection of images with ground truth labels to be used for object detection and recognition research. We used the "Tom Sawyer fence painting" approach, and developed a web-based tool that allows easy image annotation and instant sharing of such annotations. Using this annotation tool, we have collected a large dataset that spans many object categories, often containing multiple instances over a wide variety of images. We quantify the contents of the dataset and compare against existing state of the art datasets used for object recognition and detection. We have applied this dataset to scene and object recognition. Current object recognition systems can only recognize a limited number of object categories; scaling up to many categories is the next challenge. We seek to build a system to recognize and localize many different object categories in complex scenes. We achieve this through a simple approach: by matching the input image, in an appropriate representation, to images in a large training set of labeled images. Due to regularities in object identities across similar scenes, the retrieved matches provide hypotheses for object identities and locations. We build a probabilistic model to transfer the labels from the retrieval set to the input image. We demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach and study algorithm component contributions using held-out test sets from the LabelMe database. Joint work with Antonio Torralba, Byran Russell, Kevin Murphy, Rob Fergus and Ce Liu. Speaker: Bill Freeman, MIT and Adobe Systems Bill Freeman is a professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT, and a member of the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL). He studies computer vision, computer graphics, and machine learning, addressing how to represent, manipulate, and understand images. Before joining MIT, he worked for 9 years at Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs, for 6 years at the Polaroid Corporation, and for 1 year as a Foreign Expert at the Taiyuan University of Technology, Shanxi, China. Part time, he works at Adobe's Creative Technologies Lab. Hobbies include flying cameras in kites. Tags: google techtalks techtalk engedu talk talks googletechtalks education |

Google I/O 2008 - Taking Large-Scale Applications Offline Taking Large-Scale Applications Offline - Lessons Learned from Google Docs Steven Saviano (Google) Building offline applications can certainly be a challenge. But what happens when you have to scale the application to millions of users, continuously support regular application upgrades seamlessly, integrate with other offline apps, and handle your servers living in a modern-day production environment? Google Docs Offline was released in April to millions of users and had to handle all of these issues. While building Docs Offline, the team had to deal with... * Versioning and phased rollouts: what to do when you can't assume all servers have the same code * Integration with other offline-enabled applications * Log-in, log-out and single sign-on Come learn what you can do to make your application robust enough to solve these challanges. Participants should have prior knowledge of JavaScript and Google Gears . . . and used Google Docs Offline. :) Tags: Google I/O IO2008 Gears Docs Offline |

Get 500 Free (Cracked) AppStore Applications (Apps) for Firmwares 2.0, 2.0.1 and 2.0.2 (Save Thousands of Dollars) Visit www.ifortnerforum.com To Get 500 App Store Cracked Apps What is an .ipa file? An .ipa file is a file that iTunes can recognize as application files which you actually can drop into the applications library in iTunes. Once you drop these files into iTunes, you will be able to sync them onto your iPod touch or iPhone. This is very easy to do, you just need to follow this video and make and install iTunes 7.7.0. We will provide the links to download iTunes 7.7.0 so don't worry. You will also download a ipaprep application from Cydia which we will provide the source code for that too. www.ifortnerforum.com has the detailed instructions on how to upload .ipa game and application files straight into iTunes so you can sync them on to your iPhone/iPod touch just as easy as adding music to your iTunes library and syncing the music. IF YOU ARE HAVING PROBLEMS THEN READ THIS VERY CAREFULLY iTunes 7.7.1 or newer will not work with syncing cracked applications on to your iPhone/iPod touch. You will definitely need iTunes 7.7.0 in order for the cracked applications to sync on to your iPhone/iPod touch successfully and work properly. Make sure you go in to your "My Music" folder and save or backup your 'iTunes" folder so you don't lose your music and everything you have on iTunes now. Just save that folder somewhere safe or on your desktop so you can replace the iTunes folder with your backup "saved iTunes folder" after you uninstall your current iTunes and download iTunes 7.7.0. Make sure to restart your computer after removing your current iTunes and before installing iTunes 7.7.0 Click on the link below to download iTunes 7.7.0. http://www.filehippo.com/download_itunes/4389/ (Warning) Once you have successfully uploaded all your ".ipa" files (cracked applications), you are ready to sync them on to your iPhone/iPod touch. Unfortunately Apple Inc. has a limit to how many pages of application we can have on our iPhone/iPod touch. We have a maximum of 9 pages that can be filled with applications, this does include the native applications from Apple too. Not including the applications on the Dock, you figure you will have 16 applications on a page multiplied by 9 pages and that is how many applications you can have on the SpringBoard total. So subtract the number of Native applications from Apple and the applications you have installed from Cydia Installer and Installer 4.0 and that will be the number of applications you can sync on to your iPhone/iPod touch to avoid getting an error on iTunes. Okay, now that you have figured out how many applications you can sync on to your iPhone/iPod touch, go ahead and choose the "selected applications" choice rather than "sync all applications" now check the box on the right of each application you want to sync on to your iPhone/iPod touch. Once you are done with your selections, tap on either the "Sync" button or the "Apply" button. iTunes will try to start "backing up files". If this occurs, you have two options, a) Let iTunes backup your files and then iTunes will automatically start the syncing process. (Which can take up to 5 hours depending on your Internet connection.) OR b) You can stop the "backing up files" process by clicking on the little "X" on the right side of the "backing up files" located on the status bar at the top. This will end the "backing up files" process and start syncing your applications. It may take a minute or two after ending the "backing up files" process before you see that the status bar shows your applications syncing on to your iPhone/iPod touch so be patient and just wait. If you did everything successfully, you should have an iPhone/iPod touch full of great Appstore applications for free. YOUR DONE! _________________ Best Regards, iFortner iFortner Inc. www.iFortner.co.nr www.ifortnerforum.com www.youtube.com/ifortner www.myspace.com/ifortner Tags: Videos Hacks vWallpaper Summerboard WinterBoard iPod touch 3G iPhone Free Fix 3rd Party ipa Winpwn Pwnage Tool Unlock SIP VoIP 2.0 2.0.1 2.0.2 Jailbreak ipodtouchmaster05 Cracks Cracked Apps App Store Quickpwn Sex pwn Apple tutorials How To 1.1.4 1.1.3 1.1.2 1.1.1 iFortner iAppCat Cydia Installer 4.0 Mac PSP Wii PS3 Robotics themes 3d brasil windows movie awesome cool music Texas Hold Em aquaforest ipinball sudoku ay dizzy bee trism enigmo chopper crash bandicoot Super Monkey Ball |

Rapid Prototyping of Ubiquitous Computing Applications: Tools & Frameworks Google Tech Talks March, 24 2008 ABSTRACT Yang Li - RESEARCH SCIENTIST Pervasive or ubiquitous computing (ubicomp) applications can support people's everyday activities in the physical world by leveraging advances in sensor technologies and computing infrastructures. Designing ubicomp applications is challenging because our everyday activities are more complex, dynamic and less structured than the tasks supported by traditional desktop computing. Ubicomp design is difficult, time-consuming, and requires a high level of technical expertise, especially with sensor technologies. To address this, I created a set of rapid prototyping tools and frameworks. My early work with Topiary introduces high-level abstractions, such as maps and scenarios, for designers to easily model location contexts and specify location-based behaviors. Topiary also allows a design to be tested in the field via a Wizard of Oz approach, without deploying a location sensor infrastructure. My recent work is focused on activity-based ubicomp prototyping, a process for enabling long-term activities (such as keeping fit)—a larger unit for design than the tasks that are the focus of traditional design. To support such a process, I created ActivityDesigner, a system that allows designers to create functional prototypes of ubicomp applications based on field observations, and easily deploy and test these prototypes in situ. Speaker: Yang Li - RESEARCH SCIENTIST Yang Li is a research associate in the Computer Science and Engineering Department at the University of Washington. He works in the areas of human-computer Interaction and ubiquitous computing, focusing on activity-based ubiquitous computing, rapid prototyping tools and pen-based interaction techniques. Previously, he was a postdoctoral researcher in EECS at the University of California at Berkeley. He received his PhD in computer science from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Hacking Internet Banking Applications Source: http://video.hitb.org/2005.html The general public sentiment is that the banks, having always been the guardians of our money, are expert at safeguarding it. Unfortunately, internet corporate banking and personal banking applications are usually ridden with bugs. Internet Banking Applications development is nowadays out-sourced to third party software vendors that have poor understanding of security, and incomplete quality management processes. Most of the time the applications are extremely insecure before they get audited by security professional third-parties. This presentation will demonstrate the various attacks that almost always work (and those that do not), on your "bank-next-door" internet banking application, illustrated with real life statistics. We will outline the regular technical attacks and will focus on a hit parade of business logic attacks. We will steal money from other customers, buy shares for free, and spy on other customers bank records among many other frauds. This demonstration will highlight the solutions to some of the challenges the banks will face online to ensure that their data handling practices are compliant with their country's privacy regulations and banking regulations among others. Practical Applications of Natural Language Processing in Assistive Technology Google Tech Talks May, 15 2008 ABSTRACT Ken Ingham, Ph.D. will describe the architecture and motivation behind the development of Amazability, Inc.'s Adept1 product. The Adept1 performs natural language analysis and interprets spoken words and phrases or typed input. It accepts and interprets verbal commands and responds with high quality speech. The Adept1 is equipped with voice recognition and text-to-speech output that dynamically adapts multilingual spoken output to context. The Adept1 offers such applications as word processing, email, address book, web browsing, and access to an online library of thousands of books. These applications along with others have been developed from the ground up to work with speech and have a common command language throughout. They can be employed using ordinary speech or typed words and sentences. Thus the product represents a foundation for implementing practical natural language transaction processing where simple English phrases and sentences are interpreted to command a sequence of complex operations. While the Company's founders are offering a vehicle that can be used as a full programmer's workstation, the operating system is hidden with all applications designed to be used by person's with minimal or no technical background. The Adept1 will be demonstrated and a roadmap for future applications will be given. This talk will be taped.
