An Arabic Christmas Carol (Byzantine Hymn of the Nativity) A voice from the unheard voices of the Christians of the Middle East who have been witnessing to faith in the Saviour since His incarnation in their midst. Today is born of a virgin He who holds the whole creation in His hand. (3X) He whose Essence none can touch is bound in swaddling clothes as a Child. God who in the beginning established the heavens lies in a manger. He who rained manna on His people in the wilderness is fed on milk from His mother's breast. The Bridegroom of the Church summons the wise men. The Son of the Virgin accepts their gifts. We worship Thy Birth O Christ. (3X) Show us also Thy Divine Theophany. Chanted by Reader Nader Hajjar, Ottawa. Video by kalamation and Fr. Francois Beyrouti. Cherubic Hymn - Plagal of 1st Tone (Byzantine Chant) Chanted by Byzantine Master and Professor of Byzantine Music Mr. George Papanikolaos from Samos, Greece. Cherubic Hymn: Plagal of 1st tone, composed by Hatziathanasiou, which is chanted in the Divine Liturgy of The Greek Orthodox Church during the Great Entrance... "Let us who mystically portray the Cherubim, and chant the thrice-holy hymn unto the life-creating Trinity, lay aside all earthly care, that we may receive the King of all, escorted invisibly by the angelic orders. Alleluia." No instruments are used when chanting byzantine music, only the human voice can be used and nothing else. Byzantine Agreement Google Tech Talks August 3, 2007 ABSTRACT Byzantine Agreement is a fundamental problem in distributed computing, that is--design a protocol to bring processors to agreementon a bit despite a fraction of bad processors behaving to disrupt the outcome. First proposed in 1980, it was proved impossible to solve deterministically which launched some of the early work on randomized algorithms. As the only (randomized) solutions for synchronous and asynchronous environments were resp., nearly linear time or exponential time, or required assumptions of private channels, this spurred the field of cryptography to develop concepts like multiparty secure computation. We have designed a distributed... Tags: google howto byzantine agreement |
