Kabir Song - Anal Shah (CalArts) Kabir Song is based on the life of 14th century Indian mystic and poet, Kabir, who was most famous for his songs scorning religious affiliation. His life and death is surrounded by legends, where it is still unclear whether he was a Muslim or a Hindu. The camera follows a similar mystic as he walks the streets of Varanasi, a northern Indian city, singing the songs of Kabir. Waterfall - Calarts Producer's Show 1999 Film by Crystal Chesney and Aimee Major. We did this film when we were students at Calarts. We storyboarded the film together while we were roomates. Crystal did the water effects and centaur animation, and I did the mermaid animation, mermaid voice and backgrounds. The centaur is voiced by Todd Harris and the title text is by Stephanie Lostimolo. TRIP Dance Theatre "Beneath the Water" at CalArts Artistic Director/Choreographer Monica Favand Campagna created "Beneath the Water" in 2003 for TRIP Dance Theatre's evening length concert, "Breath & Bone". The work is inspired by the plight of whales who are currently being subjected to extraordinarily loud underwater sonar signals by the US Navy - high frequency sonar which causes whales to have brain hemorraghes and confuses their sense of direction to the point where they sometimes beach themselves. "Beneath the Water" is at the same time about the feeling of being in the moment, of being in our bodies and being torn away from this sense of embodiment by distraction. The work was originally co-created with Janet Collard and Quilet Rarang. Here, Janet Collard, Monica Favand Campagna and Andriana Mitchell perform as part of the CalArts Commuter Festival. The original score is by TRIP music director Charlie Campagna. Costumes by Monica Favand Campagna. Video Artist: Carol Gehring. Videographer: Cal Arts students.
