Distro Linux - www.videomarta.com E così, come promesso, torniamo a parlare di GNU/Linux. Questa volta proviamo ad affrontare una panormaica delle sue distribuzioni, in modo da iniziare ad approfondire il discorso. Le distribuzioni esistenti sono veramente molte ed ognuna ha caratteristiche diverse per quanto riguarda il numero e le versioni dei programmi installabili ed anche l'organizzazione degli stessi. Così ognuno è libero di scegliere la versione più adatta alle sue necessità. Ed allora in questo video parliamo di Debian, progetto gestito da una società no-profit, e dei suoi software. Ma parliamo anche di Ubuntu, una delle distro Linux più in voga in questo momento, semplice, immediata e pensata per gli utenti comuni. E poi passiamo a RedHat con l'omonima società di software opensource e il suo primato di quotazione in borsa. Ed ancora Fedora, sviluppata direttamente dalla comunità. Ma siccome l'elenco è lungo possiamo ancora dare uno sguardo a Gentoo Linux, metadistribuzione le cui appplicazioni si possono installare compilandole dal codice sorgente. E poi SUSE, prodotta in Germania e quindi attenta alle necessità degli utenti europei. Ed ancora Slackware, la più longeva e forse la più graficamente essenziale. Ma prima di chiudere il discorso è bene fare ancora un accenno a Solaris e BSD, due distribuzioni non propriamente Linux e comunque molto interessanti. E visto che Videomarta cerca di essere sempre molto pratica, diamo anche un paio di consigli su come provare le distro Linux. Nello specifico i consigli sono il CD Live e (soprattutto) le macchine virtuali. Ma come sempre, quando si parla di Linux, il consiglio è di rivolgervi ai Lug della vostra zona per approfondire il discorso. I demonstrate wireless connectivity and playback of a music video from youtube with the 600X.. Puppy Linux instantly recognized my card, and found my router, hooking up to router was very easy. On the second machine, I just demonstrate a graphics program, as I wasn't able to connect to the Internet, nor anything else of significance. I have a zip drive somewhere, and could have used that, but if I was desperate, maybe I could get it to work. The program used to boot the 760EL, since it's bios doesn't support booting from anything other than floppies (which I didn't have a drive for), and Hard drives, note it does support booting from a network (a feature that isn't popular these days).. But I had to look around for a program that would permit me to boot from a cdrom, the program I found is: Smart Boot Manager Google it.. Or go here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/btmgr/ You can use Smart Boot Manager to boot any operating system, even windows install disks.. So its a good thing to have especially if you have an old BIOS. Dual Monitors Open Possibilities Una muestra y guia rápida de cómo instalar 2 monitores bajo GNU/Linux, usando la distro live dvd ComFusion baja en uBeryl y el famoso Ubuntu. Os muestro como instalo las controladoras lógicas de mi tarjeta, como podreis ver NVIDIA, y mas tarde confirugo el servidor gráfico (xorg) que no muestro en el video y finalmente configuro el software controlador para adaptarlo a mi exigencias. Y ahi esta la muestra de lo conseguido, totalmente en modo Live, sin trabajar con HD interno. Opinion personal: Es una completa maravilla que siempre quise hacer, pero la falta de componetes no me lo permitia.
