Dueling Firebirds. 1 1/2 hour flights! How? Don't run motor! When the wind creates updrafts (after slamming into the side of the Ocheydan Mound hillside), we have found that we can get over an hour and half of flying time from the stock 300 MAH NiMh Battery!! We simple have learned how to use those updrafts to create the lift and by using NO Motor! I bought this plane strictly to "soar" with and really didnt care if it had a motor. (But it is really fun to fly with the motor too, as you have seen from my other vids on it. It is almost the same size as the Bridi Tercel glider, so I figured it would make a good "slope soarer", since I had several of the Tercells over the years. Some American Flights Canceled At KCI American Airlines canceled about 300 flights Wednesday so its crews could inspect some wire bundles aboard its MD-80 aircraft. Federal inspectors saw a need to make sure wiring on those planes was installed and secured properly, officials said. The cancellations affected several departures and arrivals at Kansas City International Airport, including a flight to Dallas 18-year-old Jonna Peterson was supposed to take. She's trying to get back to Sacramento, Calif. Peterson sat with her relatives at the airport for an extra three and a half hours Wednesday because of the morning cancellation. "I was supposed to leave at 9:50 (a.m.). It did mess it up a bit, but I did get to spend some more time with my family," Peterson told KMBC's Maria Antonia. "I'm going to be getting home at 9:30 at night." American typically lists nearly 50 flights in and out of KCI. American Airlines didn't have to use its nearby facility to inspect three MD-80s that were kept in Kansas City overnight -- the mechanics at the airport did that and repaired one of the plans. Local crews are also on standby in case they have to fly out to help with inspections in other cities. But what a pretty sight over the harbor. Let's take a look. Inbound flights had to be diverted to Brisbane and Melbourne airports. City commuters were also affected because of disrupted and cancelled ferry services. The thick blanket of fog rolled in during today's early hours and covered almost the entire city. It stretched from the south over the harbour and towards the airport as well as over the north, but it was heaviest in the west. Though it's wreaking havoc on transport, the scenes of white froth over Sydney's harbour and the Opera House were breathtaking.
