Nathan's story about autism & how he continues to recover. http://www.autismrecovery.info This is a video about our son Nathan who has Autism.(Please don't forget to rate this video). Nathan was a premature baby, he was born 3 months early (27 weeks gestation), weighing in at only 910 grams. Nathan spent the first 3 months of his little life in hospital. Nathan had to fight for his life when he was only 5 days old as he was very sick. Thank God he made it and is still with us today. He had heaps of test and probes within that three months and prior to leaving the hospital had to have a double hernia operation. Nathan was a regular visitor at the Royal Womens and Royal Childrens hospital in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia for the first two years of his life. As Nathan grew we started to notice abnormalities with his behaviour. By the time he was 2 years old we knew had severe Autism and as a result was very low functioning. We wanted to be pro-active about this and so we wanted to find out about anything we could that would help our son. As a result my wife came across a number of therapies that have helped our son out a lot, some more successful than others. The bio-medical side of treatment can be very stressful but is very rewarding. Nathan has come along way as a result of the treatment plan that he has been on. The ten minute video can't show you everything but enough to see how a child with Autism can improve dramatically with the right care. Nathan is still on the road to recoverying from autism but we need your help. The Great Daryl Nathan Documentary, pt. 1 "Beautiful World: The Great Daryl Nathan Story" A documentary on the Grand Rapids legend, The Great Daryl Nathan, that I made years ago in film school. Daryl was a local legend due to his cable access show "The Great Daryl Nathan's Entertainment Show" on GRTV in, I think 1996. The next year I wound up interning at WKTV, the cable access station just outside of Grand Rapids. I asked Daryl if I could do a documentary on him. He said sure. By this time he had stopped making shows for GRTV. After shooting the doc Dale Chilton and I started producing Daryl's new show for - "The New Great Daryl Nathan's Entertainment Show." It was a blast. Alas, all good things come to an end and I moved to Los Angeles. After finding some of Daryl's videos on YouTube I decided to dust this thing off. Part 1 of 2. I just thought it'd be cute... :D I found this version of this song and fell in love with it - so give it a chance. I thought it fit Nathan & Peter's relationship well. Nathan's heroic ability after all is to fly (higher than an eagle), but it's more than that... Like my "Someday" video, this video is from Nathan's point of view. Peter does seem to sometimes be overSHADOWed by his brother. Nathan is the politically powerful brother with all the glory, while Peter is the true hero - the brother who doesn't care if people know his name nor does he even care if he lives as along as he saves others' lives. And Nathan recognizes that Peter is such a noble hero. Peter even was able to become Nathan's biological daughter's hero, while Nathan can't even be there for her (in case you didn't understand, that's what I was going for from 3:31 through 3:36). And yes, I know that scene I used of Nathan flying from the 20th episode near the end of this video is actually Sylar 5 years into the future - but pretend that really is Nathan, flying higher than an eagle because Peter is the wind beneath his wings... I feel obligated to thank ShadowKayvaan for sending me this song - without ShadowKayvaan's help, I wouldn't even have this video!! And as always, I like to take relationships as they are on the show, so I am viewing this as simply a relationship between brothers.
