O'Bryan "TENDERONI" 1987 Super rare video by the very underated R&B artist of the 1980's, O'Bryan Burnette II. He enjoyed several R&B charted singles throughout the early to mid-1980's, as well as providing the theme song to "that show" from 1983-87, but as R&B music started to change, much of his style of music did too. Written and produced by former Raydio lead singer, Jerry Knight and Aaron Zigman, "Tenderoni" became O'Bryan's last Hit Single (peaking at #35 on the R&B charts by early 1987), of which was months shy from the New Jack Swing era that changed R&B music forever. Since I'm strictly using this account to post dance moves, opinions, great funk and otherwise, it's only best that this was posted the way it is. Most of you will be proud as well, i'm sure. hahah. There has been a lot said in the internet world about O'Bryan. He's, in my opinion, one of the most underrated and undermined talents to ever come out of that great BOOGIE FUNK period (80-84), and it's awfully great to see OB back out there jammin again after years and years away. Listen to this version!! While it may not have the famous "chicken scratching" and added instrumentation that the remix has, That bassline (done by Melvin Lee Davis, btw) has a hypnotizing effect to it which seems to takeover the entire track. Definitely not a bad thing. Folks, whenever I get a chance to produce a groundbreaking dance show, I'd want a theme like this one... or at least with the great qualities it possesses. Enjoy.
