Michel de Broin, an artist, had totally stripped down a 1986 Buick Regal and outfitted it with 4 independent pedal and gear mechanisms. This was part of 'art' piece being exhibited at the Mercer Union Gallery (24 October - 8 December). Anyway, the police noticed the car's test drive and thought to pull it over and check it out. Rock Band (Blackened demo & metal bass pedal) read this first please: people are asking me the same questions over and over, so reading this should help answer a lot of the generic ones. Still, I appreciate the comments/views and stuff, don't get me wrong. (my gamertag = sskitzzo) Anyways, this is sort of a 2 for 1 video here; you get to see what is easily the hardest section on expert drums in the game (if not the song itself), and you get to see me and my friends building/testing the new metal bass pedal we made for our Rock Band drumset. I still advise you all to replace your drum pedals with EA, but this is a good temporary replacement (or for double bass) in the meantime. AND NO, this should NOT void the warranty because all of this is self-contained; you don't do anything whatsoever to the Rock Band drumset, you just plug it into the port that the drum pedal went in; it's equal to using a 3rd party controller or something on a console. Big Muff Pi, Suppa Bender, and Jumbo Bender fuzz tones are all available via a three way toggle switch. The unique Sludge knob controls the amount of low end going in to the fuzz circuit. Pedal Powered Mobile Call Shop - Nicaragua In Nicaragua people make national and international phone calls every day in call shops using their cell phones as address books instead of cell phones, although this may seem inconvenient to some the savings is worth it to many. In many towns in the developing world a popular and inexpensive form of reaching people is the bicycle, it is used as a taxi, to move cargo and even to sell ice cream. We thought it was time to give the bicycle a bit of an upgrade by bringing the cost savings of a call shop to the people using the same familiar bicycle they use for transportation. We call it Llamadas Pedaleadas or Pedaled Phone Calls. The one essential thing that a cell phone has that a call shop doesn't is a battery, so using parts found in a junk yard we created a constantly recharging battery by pedal power. Electricity is generated as the person is traveling to his destination, if the battery runs low at the destination he can drop the kick stand and start cycling in place. Generating electricity from pedaling allows us to travel to the central park, a remote town or a big festival increasing access to inexpensive telephony anywhere. Because this bike is built for the developing world we had to use parts that could be easily found. To generate the electricity we used an old car alternator that sends the electricity generated to a car battery. The electricity stored in the battery is accessed by an old computer UPS to convert the electricity to 110V. Our goal with this bike is to create a ready made business for local entrepreneurs and to increase access to affordable telephony for bottom of the pyramid customers. Rock Band Kick Pedal Breaks mid song ***read this first** update #2: everyone thinks i'm wearing boots. these are nike hightop sneakers. they are comfortable and not firm. secondly, where does it say in the manual to not wear shoes? i wear shoes when i play real drums so why would i do any differently? EA and harmonix didn't give a disclaimer at any point to emphasize being very careful when playing their game because if not you'll break it. the pedal is FLAWED, plain and simple. press it down all the way and look at the gap in the middle. now gently force it a little more and you'll see the pedal flexes. plastic + flexing = breaking i took my shirt off because when i filmed the video it was within the first week that i got the game and i had been playing it a lot. drumming = high energy exertion = sweating. at least on expert metallica. if you don't understand that's because you're playing radio head on medium difficulty. lastly, i lot of people say play drums for real! stop wasting your time! join a real band! 1) i do play drums for real (occasionally). 2) after the first 2 weeks or so of owning the game, i've probably played rock band a total of 5 hours since which is less than an hour average per month. 3) i'm in a band and have been in rock/metal bands for the past 12 years update: EA replaced it for free. i havent used it because i made my own out of a real kick pedal, practice pad, and a button from radio shack. see other video. skip to the 4 minute mark if you're impatient. i bought rock band exactly one week ago and i've spent a few hours almost every day jamming on the drumset. i even got to #1 on metallica's blackened and #4 on And Justice for All, so i decided to film myself. midway through the kick drum pedal cracks in half. ouch Tags: rockband rock band broken broke kick pedal stomp bass snap
