Veganism ~The Solution Animal agriculture's dependence on higher yields accelerates topsoil erosion on our farmlands, rendering land less productive for crop cultivation, and forcing the conversion of wilderness to grazing and farm lands.(8) Animal waste from massive feedlots and factory farms is a leading cause of pollution in our groundwater and rivers.(9) The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization has linked animal agriculture to a number of other environmental problems, including: contamination of aquatic ecosystems, soil, and drinking water by manure, pesticides, and fertilizers; acid rain from ammonia emissions; greenhouse gas production; and depletion of aquifers for irrigation.(10) In a time when population pressures have become an increasing stress on the environment, there are additional arguments for a vegan diet. The United Nations has reported that a vegan diet can feed many more people than an animal-based diet. Veganism and vegetarianism in Islam&Turkiye The answer to 'How is the current situation of vegetarianism in Turkey? ', or 'How many vegetarians are there in Turkey?' is really very difficult to answer, exactly like in the USA, or any other county in the world. The famous and historical Turkish cuisine is offering a vast opportunity of items particularly for lacto-vegetarians as well as the acceptance of dry beans and rice, chickpeas (or lentils or peas) and bulghur (cracked wheat). Widely known 'yoghurt' is a word which has entered Western languages from Turkish (yogurt) since it is the oldest food of Nomadic Turkish tribes brought from Middle Asian steppes having many derivatives like Ayran (yoghurt drink), Cacik (appetiser), Kurut (dried yoghurt), Süzme (dense yoghurt),etc. Another trend nowadays is preference of white meat or soya products like textured soy protein, tofu and soy milk to red meat.By the way if you are interested in soymilk you can watch my video showing to make a soymilk machine as a hobby at home in youtube.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJ2NA2ucPss ..Although you can see a McDonald's, Burger King or Dönner Kebap shop on every corner of Istanbul there are also about 10 restaurants identifying themselves as vegetarian restaurants except 15-20 Far-Eastern restaurants. Nevertheless as mentioned before, in local restaurants you can generally find tasty alternatives for veggies. Once a year Turks sacrifice a ram in memory of Prophet Abraham but Islam advises less consumption of meat saying 'too much meat consumption is a kind of addiction like alcoholic drinks'.The prominent Islam scholar Abdül Kadir Geylani would once a year have a vegan diet for 40 days and if we examine Islam and Prophet Mohammed's sayings we see that he advices us to eat meat at least once in 40 days otherwise our nature wil be harmed and when we examine the contemporary medicine we see that the best source of vitamin B12 and iron is red meat.It is very obvious that our body will have no harm if we eat meat once or twice in 40 days.On the contrary this is exactly the way of nutrition of thousands of centenerians in Turkey,Caucasia,Balcans .Zaro Agha who lived 160 years ..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvCTNQISFfk These people eat meat very rarely as adviced by Islam and their basic protein source is yoghurt just. On the other hand if we examine the life of George Bernard Shaw who is known to be the longest living vegan we can see that he had pernicious anemia in most of his life of 92 years. In Islam "HUMAN" is the most honored creature like in all other religions and all the other things were simply created to serve him . I think that the people of our world hopefully will find the right path to the century's biggest fact of 'Ovo-lacto vegetarians tend to live longer and to suffer less from chronic disabling conditions than their meat eating peers' as stated in the most imporatnt Medicine book of the world (The Merck Manual, 15 th Edition, Pg.9). judsonlaipply ,Evolution of Dance,Dancing, comedy, okgo,ok,go,treadmills, here,it,goes, again, hereitgoesagain,PARISIN JAIL,Larry, King, parody, showbiz, tonight,CNN,access, hollywood, bikini,Legs, feet, butt, boobs,IMVU - www.IMVU.com,guitar,canon,rock,kid,jerryc, funtwo,cannon,solo,lesson,guitar90,prabhu, deva,Kalluri,Vaanil,Pennin,Manathai,Thottu, laughter, revelry, child,Hahaha , Tags: Vegan vegetarian vejeteryan soymilk machine zaro agha longevity immortality film nutrition ufo soccer song music movie advice community dating personals random video blog wisdom |

Tips on Veganism "what is a VEGAN? A vegan (pronounced VEE-gun) is someone who, for various reasons, chooses to avoid using or consuming animal products. While vegetarians choose not to use flesh foods, vegans also avoid dairy and eggs, as well as fur, leather, wool, down, and cosmetics or chemical products tested on animals. why VEGAN? Veganism, the natural extension of vegetarianism, is an integral component of a cruelty-free lifestyle. Living vegan provides numerous benefits to animals' lives, to the environment, and to our own health--through a healthy diet and lifestyle." - www.vegan.org NOTE: Some vegans don't use bee products either, like honey or beeswax. I personally don't but the decision is a personal choice. I speak about vegan alternatives and adapting foods. Here are some links for you. Enjoy! The reason I went vegan was animal rights. The dairy and veal industry are connected to one another. Egg laying hens are treated terribly. Why I'm not vegan Okay, first up. Please don't switch this video off after my first argument and call me a bad person. I explain later why I have these arguments, and also why people who attack me for eating meat are counterproductive to the movement they're promoting. The thing I like most about Vegans (the one's I've met) is that they don't judge me for eating meat. They explain why they're vegan, and they leave it at that. I have my reasons (as I explain) for eating meat. They have their reasons for not eating meat. As long as I'm not condemned by vegans for eating meat, I'll continue to support veganism. While I'm not vegan, I support veganism, in that I have no probem with anyone who is vegan, I honestly hope that veganism grows, and while I don't take the same moral stance as them, I understand why they have their moral stance and I certainly don't condemn them for it. "A Little bit about being a Vegan" by Kevin P. Harloff *Leave on and read the annotations for this post: they are important for this video! **Remember to eat well-balanced meals from the whole spectrum of colors of veggies, fruits, nuts, legumes, soy products, wheat and whole grains, and other non-animal sources if you are a Vegan or Vegetarian, as well as take a good mulitvitamin. Diet and nutrition take research, time, and energy. ***Again I am not a Doctor, a Registered Dietitian, nor a Licensed Nutritionist, I do not have the accredition to be a food mentor--I am just an individual explaining my experience with Veganism, my diet, and exercise. Definition of Vegan: "[T]he word "veganism" denotes a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude — as far as is possible and practical — all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of humans, animals and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals." (from the Vegan Society--I don't know who this society is, but this is what wikipedia gave me.) My definition of Vegan: Someone who does not exploit, kill, harm, eat, or use animals for their own life or personal gain--one who does not eat any animal products including meat, eggs, poulty, fish, diary, honey (if you have a question about this one--google honeybees and understand why honeybees are so important and the danger we are having with their existence here in America right now), or anything else that is, was, or comes from an animal. Here is my long overdue video about my experience as a Vegan thus far--it's been almost three years now. I had promised myself and others that I would make a Vegan video so here it is. The supplements that are in this video, the protein shakes and such, are for my bodybuilding. A person who is not into weightlifting or growing muscles does not need to take these supplements--they can eat soy products or complement their meals to get the correct amount of amino acids, or protein(s) needed. I want to make it clear I chose not to eat animals because I believe it is ethically incompatible with my philosophy of living; I do not eat animals because it is undeniably terrible the way animals are treated and slaughtered; I do not eat animals because I like animals and I don't want to ingest them; and I don't eat animals because I believe a plant based diet is the healthiest for the human being. If you have any questions on being a Vegan, Veganism, Vegetarianism, life, music, or anything else feel free to leave a comment or message me.
