Warhammer Mark of Chaos Warhammer Online is a forthcoming MMORPG based on the Warhammer Fantasy universe. It is currently under development by Mythic Entertainment, the studio behind the popular MMORPG Dark Age of Camelot, and is slated for release sometime in 2007(the date is a lie). The game's official acronym is WAR, standing for Warhammer Online : Age of Reckoning. The central theme of the game revolves around the continual worldwide conflict most Warhammer settings are well known for, and almost every aspect of the game will be geared towards omnipresent, constant war. Mythic will be using their trademark Realm vs. Realm PvP system in WAR, which is the same system used in Dark Age of Camelot. The two alliances, Order and Destruction, will each be divided into 3 armies, and each army will consist of four playable careers (classes). The three armies of Order are the Empire, Dwarfs, and High Elves, and the three Destruction armies are Dark Elves, Greenskins (Orcs and Goblins), and Chaos. While each army is usually composed of one race, the Greenskins are composed of two, Orcs and Goblins; giving WAR seven playable races. However each army will still only have four careers from which to choose. The Greenskins army will divide its four careers, giving two to the Orcs and two to the Goblins. Reminiscent of the Engineer in Team Fortress, this guy can drop stationary turrets, land mines, barbed wire and all sorts of cool Engineery stuff. He can also pop a cap in your #$%* with his trusty rifle, from the farthest distance of any ranged class I've played yet, if specialized to get the Snipe ability. The Engineer has pretty good survivability for a ranged dps class, I found barbed wire to be a life saver. He's also great when you can find some high ground and get set up to try and pick people off. Warhammer Online beta: Bright Wizard part 8 Check out http://textwall.blogspot.com for more! Start with a dose of fire blasts, add combustion, explosions and general face melting and you have the Bright Wizard! While I don't know if this is the class I will ultimately pick as my "main" in War, it is definitely a top contender. At minimum, it will be one of my often played alts. This is a high damage class typical to the MMO genre, a glass cannon. If left alone you will decimate people, but with melee on you its over quickly. Low HP makes you hard to heal through much damage, but its the classic trade off of damage vs survivability. You do have some tricks in your bag, and the overall I found the BW to be a very fun class that is very flavorful. Warhammer Online beta: Marauder Check http://textwall.blogspot.com for more! Now for the sickest looking, twisted and mutated killer in the game: the Marauder. This guy is really cool looking and is one of the few non tank, non stealthy melee dps classes left in the game after 2 were cut from production a few months ago. The Marauder offers some unique looks and game play mechanics via mutations. I have not played one much in beta yet, but it is something I plan to do and will try to bring you some RVR and/or scenario footage as soon as I am able so look for updates if you are interested in the Marauder. For now I bring you this introductory "hands on" video until I can get more in production. Space Marines Tribute - Warhammer 40,000 Theme This is a simple slideshow music video honouring the Space Marines of the Adeptus Astartes and also the Adeptus Custodes (the personal guards of the Emperor.) I like the music and think it fits in well, almost like a Space Marine Theme, Imperial Anthem or war march music. While Space marines might not march to this music, or "listen" to it as some say... I think the lyrics describe them well enough. On a side note, comparisons to Ruckuz88's video "They are my Space Marines" are completely out of order. Mine are simple slideshows, while Ruckuz makes better animated videos. You can't compare two completely different things. Kudos to him anyway, but all fanboys please stick to your respective vids in future rather than starting a debate over who is best etc. I'm sure we don't really want the WH40k community turning into the bitter, pathetic Star Wars one. Personally I think Ruckuz's videos are better but you're here now so stop whining. Yes, I am also aware the first pic is of the Adeptus Custodes... if you want to comment on this vid, comment sensibly or you will be blocked. I welcome it if you criticise me and tell me how to improve, as long as your critique is sensible. I welcome your comments on how to improve and get better at this sort of thing. On the other hand, comments designed to slag off Warhammer 40,000 fans, or directly insult this video will not be tolerated. Comments that say "you could have done this better" or "that is poor and could be improved" are welcomed. We all know the world is full of immature uneducated morons, uncapable of thinking before they waste their time on posts that will simply be deleted. The age of the macho neanderthal and looking big on the Internet is over, so grow up. However, your comments provide some humour for me, and of course you contribute to the overall video views! While I think that the Space Marines are the best Warhammer 40,000 race, that is my opinion only, and I would enjoy a debate over who the best is!
