McB asks for help with a Home Recording Studio This is an old video as we have now bought a lot of the equipment we need, taking the advice we were given on board. But- any musicians/producers/sound engineers "out there" want to give me advice on what I need to consider equipment-wise for setting up a satisfactory, and expandable, "home-recording studio" and its future expansion after watching Part 2? What we have: 1. Venue. Chapel 27' long by 10' wide with four foot thick stone walls and flagstone floor and a one and a half floor ceiling height currently used as a textile studio and very adaptable. 2. Microphones: 1 Rode NT1-A, 1 Shure SM58 and 1 SM57. 3. Interface/pre-amp: Saffire Focusrite. 4. MacBook Pro (November 2007) Wanting to get: 1. Vocal booth as street noise might still be an issue. 2. More microphones. Like the Neumann U87 but what else might suit? 3. Bigger/better interface. 4. iMac 23" screen with external hard drives and a second screen running Logic Pro. McB on the new Copyright Infringement Notification http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?answer=83766&topic=13656 Hey folks! It has been some time since I created the copyright series and time I updated the info to include the new system YouTube use to identify and "deal" with copyright "breaches". The ID Tag Library system is the nifty and cool way of automatically identifying what in our videos (in terms of audio or video) breaches copyright and applying a copyright owner's preferences to it- either they want to be paid for their property's use, want it removed and/or want to have a look at it. This will generate an email from YouTube which has been leading to confusion- the new format email gives you two options: 1. Do nothing, and- 2. Take the video down. Which basically means: 1. Do nothing, and let YouTube ingather revenues to use to pay the copyright owner, or- 2. Take it down and then YouTube is the party who does nothing (as they then do not need to in-gather revenues). McB's Entry for You Tube MomStars Round 4 (Semi) Well folks- the time has come. I debated whether to use some footage I had sought and just found and in the end I did not. I might not get the opportunity to use it because this IS the Semi Final and two of us mums will need to retire shortly. All in all it has been a very interesting journey... TheBennyZone nominated me and I thought; "Why not?" and that is how it began. At first I was naively excited to be participating in the project and threw myself into it with verve. Then I felt weird- thought I ought to retire because I couldn't stand the thought that some of us wonderful people would not continue on this experiment. Then I felt thrilled to have discovered other GREAT women (IN and AROUND the contest) and felt pleased to still be in. I have made some VERY close friends during this period and I have gained even more respect for our gender as a result. I have ALSO grown EVEN fonder of Benny. He is my main man even if I stray and oggle OhCurt's booty from time to time. Round 3 was VERY special- my entry really threw me. I can't actually watch it. It is very personal and it is probably not as perfect as I'd like it to be but there you are. I was "up against" AskCarrieLee who was the most amazing lady to be teamed up with and I am pleased I was. I had great fun with her. Now it is time for the Semi Final and our/my time is nearly done... THIS entry is going back to my roots of trying to illustrate my relationship with Brigid Mhairi- the VERY best girl-friend a mother could wish for. She is intelligent, wise and SO funny.
