Duran Duran "Girls On Film" live 1984 (VHS version) This is from the prerecorded VHS edition of "As The Lights Go Down", edited a little differently than the version shown on Cinemax (also on YouTube). This version doesn't have the long intro of the band introducing the song, has the "photograph" special effect at the beginning, the band introduction sequence toward the end is different, and the rest of the credits don't start until after the song's over (so you get clean shots of everything until then). There are also probably some other slight editing differences. Tags: duran live 1984 girls film |

Duran Duran "Is There Something I Should Know" I was hoping this would have a slightly better A/V sync than the other versions on YouTube, and I think it may be slightly better but can't really tell.... Tags: duran video something |

Pink Floyd "One Of These Days" live 1994 flying pigs ending This is the very end of "One Of These Days" as seen on the American Pay-Per-View broadcast from 1994. It's a little hard to see, but if you watch the pigs closely you can see them jump out of the towers down to the ground (they also did that at a show I attended). After being transmitted as Pay-Per-View, this show was re-edited a few months later using different camera angles and then released as the official Pulse VHS tape. At the end of "One Of These Days" on Pulse, the pigs can't be seen diving because for some reason Pulse cuts to a shot of the keyboard player WATCHING the pigs dive instead (amusingly, you can actually see his eyes follow the pigs down to the ground!). I thought it was just a careless editing mistake when the Pulse VHS tape came out. But now, 12 years later, they've re-edited the show again with different camera angles for the Pulse DVD...and they still use that bad shot of the keyboard player rather than showing the pigs fly, so maybe they really like it that way for some reason. I don't know why they wouldn't want to show it, though I've heard Roger may have legally barred them from using the flying pig concept. Granted this version doesn't have a very good shot of the pigs diving anyway, but on the DVD they can't be seen at all. Tags: pink floyd one of these days 1994 pulse pigs fly dive towers |

Pink Floyd "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" Syd Barrett Tribute Just something simple for people to put on their MySpaces, etc. This is the version from the old VHS tape of Pulse (which IMHO had much better camera angles than the new DVD). The beginning and one verse from the middle (at 6:13) had to be edited out to fit it into YouTube's 10 min. requirement. But the whole movie they showed at the concert is here since it's probably supposed to represent Syd's life (or anybody's).... This is from Earl's Court, London in October of 1994. Queen - Made In Heaven bonus track sync with 2001 (Pt. 2) A sync of Queen's 20-minute unlabeled bonus track from their final album "Made In Heaven" with the final 20-minute segment of the film 2001: A Space Odyssey. (Pt. 2 of 2) This is actually surprisingly good :) Even the tympani during the "star child" at the end sounds like the original music used in the film. Maybe Brian May stole the idea of syncing music to 2001 from Pink Floyd ;) Brian does have a degree in astronomy too. And the theme about transitioning to an afterlife is in both the music and the film. Tags: Queen Heaven 2001 Space Odyssey Freddie Mercury Stanley Kubrick |

Pink Floyd "On The Turning Away" Live 1988 (DSOT Version) The "Delicate Sound Of Thunder" VHS concert video version from 1988. The lighting is still innovative even 18 years later! If you look closely you can see the droids flying around above the band (sometimes in front of the round screen) and other ones popping up and down from under the stage shooting lasers....
