Documentary Clip - Cream (Eric Clapton) A short clip from a documentary made by Leo Fender - Eric Clapton: Music In Review. Note. I am not inviting any comparison whatsoever between Clapton and Hendrix. The segment just segues nicely into this clip, and provides a more complete description of the musical scene then. They were both great pioneers and musicians in their own right, and had mutual admiration for each other. Tags: eric clapton fender jimi hendrix cream blues rock |

Heifetz: Saint-Saens - Introduction et Rondo Capriccioso Heifetz in his prime, playing Saint-Saens' Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso. From the 1939 movie, "They Shall Have Music". Possibly the best bit of fiddle playing from him I have ever seen. The slow sections reflect his wondrous capability for expression. I know this has been uploaded, but this is of much better quality, and it's in English ;) Tags: jascha heifetz saint saens camille introduction rondo capriccioso violin |

Heifetz Masterclass - Erick Friedman: Paganini 17th Another clip from the filmed Masterclasses at the University of Southern California, with Heifetz and his pupils. Erick Friedman was Heifetz's prodigy, and was undoubtedly amongst his favourite students. Friedman's playing took after Heifetz's in many respects, most notably, his tone and phrasing. This contributed to his frustration; he never could escape the shadow of his teacher's legacy. Here, he is put on the spot by Heifetz and is made to go through Paganini's 17th caprice... and scales. Heifetz & Eric Friedman - Bach Double Concerto (2nd mvement) Yet another clip from the filmed Masterclasses at the University of Southern California, with Heifetz and his pupils. Erick Friedman was Heifetz's prodigy, and was undoubtedly amongst his favourite students. Friedman's playing took after Heifetz's in many respects, most notably, his tone and phrasing. This contributed to his frustration; he never could escape the shadow of his teacher's legacy. This clip contains a reading session of the Bach Double conerto's 2nd movement that. Wonderfully expressive playing, and at times, one has difficulty telling one player from the other, so similarly did they play. Heifetz recorded the whole work with Friedman at RCA.
