It is because I am trying to prove a point. You can NOT get six pack abs from just doing hundreds of crunches. In fact, you don't even need to do a single crunch to get six pack abs. The truth is everybody has a six pack (or even an 8 pack) but you just can't see it because of the layers of fat on top of it. Ab crunches do NOT burn the fat thats on your stomach. You will get far better results from training your entire body with compound movements such as squats, lunges, pullups, and pushups. . It has been very warm lately where I live so I have been bringing my workout training outside at my local park.. Basically, I am going back to the basics and I am loving the new challenge. Using my own bodyweight as the machine to keep me in condition. This is the Outdoor Bodyweight Conditioning Workout Routine that I did a few days ago If you want to follow it, here are the workout instructions: 1a: Rope Push - 20 reps 1b: Modified Pistol Squat - 15 reps per side 2a: Recline Pull - 15 reps 2b: Jump Squat - 20 reps 3a: Side Pull up - 20 reps 3a: Alternating Split Squat Jump - 20 reps 4a: Bodyweight Shoulder Press - 15 reps 4b: Bulgarian Squat - 15 reps per side 5a: Windshield Wiper - 20 reps 5b: The Flag - 15 seconds per side All exercises are done in a superset between upper body and lower body. For example, Rope Pushup are supersetted with a Modified Pistol Squat. Do NOT rest within the superset, but rest 30 seconds after the lower body before repeating the superset again. You probably had a great time eating burgers, hotdogs, and drinking beer. However, the weekend is now over with and fun time is over. Let's get back to real muscle building training. I want to share you a powerful tip that I picked up from Jayson Ferruggia of http://www.mymusclegainingsecrets.com. It is something that I have never revealed until now. The recommended rep scheme for building muscle is 5-8 reps. You will want to aim for 5-8 reps for most exercises (with an exception of a few of them). It is the rep scheme that I use to get stronger and bigger at the same time. However, there is one exception for incorporating high repetition for muscle building. You can do high repetition (20 reps) BUT IT MUST BE AFTER A HEAVY REP SET (5-8 reps). For example, you can do barbell squat for 5 reps followed by 20 reps of the body squat. Or you can stick with the same exercise. For example, you can do barbell squat for 5 reps (heavy weights)followed by another set of barbell squats for 20 reps (light weights). Keep in mind that this is an advanced technique and it should not be done all the time. I recommend that you have at least one year of experience before attempting this muscle building technique. You probably had a great time eating burgers, hotdogs, and drinking beer. However, the weekend is now over with and fun time is over. Let's get back to real muscle building training. I want to share you a powerful tip that I picked up from Jayson Ferruggia of http://www.mymusclegainingsecrets.com. It is something that I have never revealed until now. The recommended rep scheme for building muscle is 5-8 reps. You will want to aim for 5-8 reps for most exercises (with an exception of a few of them). It is the rep scheme that I use to get stronger and bigger at the same time. However, there is one exception for incorporating high repetition for muscle building. You can do high repetition (20 reps) BUT IT MUST BE AFTER A HEAVY REP SET (5-8 reps). For example, you can do barbell squat for 5 reps followed by 20 reps of the body squat. Or you can stick with the same exercise. For example, you can do barbell squat for 5 reps (heavy weights)followed by another set of barbell squats for 20 reps (light weights). Keep in mind that this is an advanced technique and it should not be done all the time. I recommend that you have at least one year of experience before attempting this muscle building technique.
