It was a desert-based combat racing game, and was rather unusual as it was the only commercial release which was download-only. Ashen is a gothic first person shooter, and the first ever game published by Nokia themselves. Perhaps the most unusual aspect of Ashen is the need to use "ghost goggles" to see certain enemies, who are otherwise invisible. The ghost goggles are a bit like a supernatural equivalent of night vision goggles, and transform the way the world looks to their user. Ashen was very popular with fans of the original N-Gage, but it received fairly lukewarm reviews and Nokia has never talked about any sequels. Ashen did have a cameo in the original version of Mile High Pinball, as there was a section of MHP that used Ashen as a theme.
