1994 Winter CES 5/6 The legend continues: the full 1994 Winter CES (games portion) video I put together all those years ago. The show was at the Las Vegas Convention Center and was the second CES/E3 I attended. Debut of the ill-fated Amiga CD32. No tripod, no steady cam, no direct feed. Just hand-held footage edited together on a couple of VCRs with a soundtrack featuring original and arranged versions of contemporary game soundtracks. Can you name them all? Part 5 of 6. Valis 4 full story 1/2 All the cut scenes from Telenet's Valis 4 (1991) for the PC-Engine. This time, Garugia is up to no good, and it's up to Rena, her sister Amu and Garugia's own father, Asfal, to save the day. While not playable, Yuko, Cham and Valna are part of the storyline. Valis 4 featured the best graphics and gameplay of the series, and the cut scenes were some of the best produced on the PC-Engine. It was, however, never relased in America for the TurboGrafx-16/Turbo Duo. Part 1 of 2. Valis 3 full story 1/2 All the cut scenes from Telenet's Valis 3 (1990) for the TurboGrafx-16. Yuko, Valna and Char (Cham in Japan) must stop Ramses, his own Spirit World under threat of a black hole sent by the gods, from taking over the Dream World and Earth. He possesses the Sword of Lassis, equal in power to Yuko's Sword of Valis. The animation quality is much improved over Valis 2, but the lousy voice work remains. The sepia-toned retrospective near the beginning originally had a text crawl explaining the back story, but the lazy localization team removed it rather than translating. This installment adopted real-time character switching in the vein of Castlevania 3. Part 1 of 2. Tags: Valis 3 ヴァリス Nippon Telenet PC-Engine PCE TurboGrafx-16 Turbo Duo Yuko Valna Ramses Cham Char |
