During this time 70% of the population was of African descent. The socio-cultural conditions of colonial slavery transformed the music and its dance structures, creating a new identity defined as Criollo. Through this stories, you can understand the rupture of original cultures and the formation of a new socio-cultural identity that responds to new conditions of life influenced by the African population in Peru with the Spanish and the ever existing indigenous culture. RECU-TECU or Reeko Reeka in the Bantu language means harmony, fine execution, grace, flavor and wit...
