The National Anthem of the Philippines - Lupang Hinirang This is the Philippine National Anthem, "Lupang Hinirang" (Chosen Land). The Anthem's lyrics was from a poem named "Filipinas" by a Filipino, Jose Palma. It was originally in Spanish. But the music was composed by Julian Felipe. He was instructed by President Aguinaldo to make a tune for the Anthem of the new Republic. Aguinaldo liked the tune, so did the many people who celebrated their independence near the balcony of Aguinaldo's house. They heard the tune, it was now named as the "Marcha National Filipina". During the American Occupation, the anthem was sung in English, but during President Ramon Magsaysay's administration, he instructed Sen. Camilo Osias to translate it into Filipino in 1956. It was successful. The Filipino People can now sing it in their own language. Some changes took during President Marcos' Administration, but the anthem was still as great as in 1898. Here are the lyrics of the National Anthem of the Philippines: "Lupang Hinirang" Bayang magiliw Perlas ng Silanganan, Alab ng puso Sa dibdib mo'y buhay.

Handog ng Pilipino sa Mundo - EDSA, 1986 People Power Revolution The song "Handog ng Pilipino sa Mundo" was made on April 1986 to remember the EDSA People Power Revolution on February, the same year. It was composed by Jim Paredes, a member of one of the most famous singing trios in the Philippines, the APO Hiking Society and was sung with other famous Filipino singing Artists. Now, it is one of the most known Filipino Patriotic Songs of all time. The lyrics of the song: "Handog ng Pilipino sa Mundo" Composed by Jim Paredes of APO Sung by Various Artists 'Di na 'ko papayag mawala ka muli. 'Di na 'ko papayag na muli mabawi, Ating kalayaan kay tagal natin mithi. 'Di na papayagang mabawi muli. Magkakapit-bisig libo-libong tao. Kay sarap palang maging Pilipino. Sama-sama iisa ang adhikain. Kelan man 'di na paalipin. Ref: Handog ng Pilipino sa mundo, Mapayapang paraang pagbabago. Katotohanan, kalayaan, katarungan Ay kayang makamit na walang dahas. Basta't magkaisa tayong lahat. Masdan ang nagaganap sa aming bayan. Nagkasama ng mahirap at mayaman. Kapit-bisig madre, pari, at sundalo. Naging Langit itong bahagi ng mundo. Huwag muling payagang umiral ang dilim. Tinig ng bawat tao'y bigyan ng pansin. Magkakapatid lahat sa Panginoon. Ito'y lagi nating tatandaan. (repeat refrain two times) Coda: Mapayapang paraang pagbabago. Katotohanan, kalayaan, katarungan. Ay kayang makamit na walang dahas. Basta't magkaisa tayong lahat! This video is to commemorate "Araw ng mga Bayani" in honor of the heroes, who offered their lives for our Nation's total freedom. Thank you and I hope you enjoy the video. Regards to Ubermensch4ever (NinoyAquinoTV) for giving me a copy of the song. Salamat! Tags: edsa 1986 handog ng pilipino sas mundo people power apo hiking |

Magkaisa! - Remembering the 1986 EDSA Revolution. The EDSA Revolution took its place in History as the very first bloodless and non-violent revolution in history. It begun on February 22nd and ended on the 25th after the Revolt succeeded in throwing Dictator President Ferdinand Marcos out of Presidential Power and sending him, his family and colleagues into exile in Hawaii. The Revolt also put Corazon Aquino, the wife of the assasinated former Senator Ninoy Aquino, the principal political rival of Marcos to the power as President of the newly formed democratic government of the Philippines. The Revolution in EDSA triggered the hearts of other oppressed nations to stand up for their rights and freedom, like the Fall of Berlin Wall, The Tiananmen Square protests, and the collapse of the Soviet Union. The Spirit of People Power must live on! MABUHAY! This is part of my commemoration of Ninoy Aquino's 25th Death Anniversary on August 21, 2008. He was assasinated at Manila Airport on Aug. 21, 1983 because of his opposition to the oppresive Marcos Regime. Background Music: "Magkaisa" Composed by Vicente Sotto III Sung by Virna Lisa Tags: magkaisa edsa ninoy cory 25 1986 people power |
