Avatar - New Beginnings *ADD &fmt=18 TO THE END OF THE URL. Not even kidding. This is a high-def video file and I simply will not stand for people complaining about the quality when it's absolutely flawless under the correct url. That said, I hope you enjoy this. I found the song a while ago on a video about the US Olympics teams, and I fell in love with it. With all the music by this company, actually. They're pretty awesome. Unfortunately, like Audio Machine, you CANNOT get their music anywhere. Even limewire gave me a hard time. There are two incredibly awesome instrumental versions of this song. I previewed them both for my Avatar-watching friend who shares my love for orchestrated pieces, and she told me to use the "no guitar" version that relied entirely on violins because it had more emotion in it. I am so grateful for her opinion sometimes... she was absolutely right. Now, I prefer this version over the one I had planned to use originally. Thank you, Emmy! This is a trailer-esque... thing. It has no talking, no lyrics either, I like it this way because it gives you a chance to hear the true power of the music. Remember that, young AMV makers: make your music work for YOU. Mai/Zuko - Prelude Ho geez, a shipping video. I apologize to all of you who have grown fond of my trailers, but I needed to mix it up a bit. Plus, when I announced my "character tribute" speculations, about 95% of the people who commented requested either a Zuko or Mai video. It's good to compromise, no? On my trip in Chicago, I listened to this song about 20 times, and all I heard was Maiko. This song had also been deemed a failed project of mine from a few months ago, but I thought it could use a little reviving. It's a good song, short, fast, and with a strong beat. It IS a Raven song. So yeah... Maiko. Along with being one of the fandom's most hated ships, it's one of my favorites. I have always loved Mai, and after witnessing her act of unconditional love in Boiling Rock pt. 2, I knew that Maiko was it. Maiko is where it's at, dudes. That is dedication. That is love, affection, and understanding that can only be seen in one other ship of this fandom, arguably. So I don't want to hear your anti-Maiko hate comments, save it. Avatar - Boiling Rock Trailer Spoilers for Boiling Rock, obviously, although I did try not to give away much of the key stuff, you know, like GOOD movie trailers are supposed to...ugh. Yeah, so I totally made this in a day. How about that! I guess I can't say it took be 20+ hours now, cuz it didn't. I even went out to lunch and saw a movie... and yet here it is, completed on my computer and just asking to be uploaded. Your wish is my command, oh computer lord. So, Boiling Rock pts. 1 and 2 pretty much rule all. I absolutely loved them... so unexpected!! But amazingly cool! Mai is clearly the woman of the hour, hence why she gets the final shot and production still. I've always liked her, but she just jumped up 10 Raven points in my book. Geez. Still can't quite believe the end of that episode!! Boiling Rock should be changed to have the title "The Power of the Non-Benders" because really... you've got Sokka, Suki, Mai, and Ty Lee who all completely OWNED in this episode! You don't need the "gift" to be awesome. :) I know I only introduced 4 characters in this one, but the music only allowed for 4. But really, when you think about this episode, which 4 characters first come to mind? I rest my case. But yeah guys, BUY THE DVD ON MAY 6TH! For real! Avatar seriously needs our support here. Avatar - Season 3.5 Trailer #2 Believe it or not, I bought this song in hopes of making a Zuko tribute with it. Instead, it somehow morphed into a trailer. Basically, it's a crash-course/season 3.5 trailer of Avatar. Because my family has recently taken an interest in what I do, I've been making trailers in a feeble attempt to teach them about Avatar. I think this one certainly does a better job of that than the Back From Hiatus Trailer. Oh, and the reason Ty Lee is not introduced in this one is because she has been BUMPED. Yes, it's become clear to me that Fire Lord Ozai is a more crucial character to acknowledge, and Mai gets to keep her spot because she's been in 4 times as many episodes as Ty Lee this season. Mai wins. Sorry Ty Lee, better luck next time! (give me some more flippy clips and maybe I'll reconsider.) I started this video last Monday, after watching the credit sequence of the movie "Rendition." I thought it was cool and I wanted to try it out; you'll see the similarity in the way I show "Avatar The Last Airbender" at the end. Avatar - Into the Fire Today marks the one year anniversary since I uploaded my very first Avatar music video. It took 7 days to acquire one comment, and another 7 days for a second. People have since commented numerous times, often with phrases like "From humble beginnings the great do rise," which can be taken two ways in my mind. I have many reasons for choosing this song. Livevideo people may be familiar with an AMV to the same song by FancyClancy, a video I credit as my one greatest inspiration for making Avatar videos. I remember how the music sent chills down my spine. I remember the clip where she kicks the rocks away on the drill, right when the drums come in. I remember watching this video at least twice a day... until one day, it was gone. This is my resurrection of that video (only, you know, done my way.) Avatar - Nara How much awesomeness can I fit into under two minutes of screentime? Quite a bit actually. This is me getting psyched up for September and a whole new season of amazing, by compiling clips of everything I love about Avatar, the action, the emotion, the passion!! Unfortunately, due to time constaints to finish and upload this video, I had to steal the song from a very good friend of mine, brilliantlygreen, whose Avatar Preview video completely inspired this one. And, as an added bonus, after watching both seasons over again with my friend (who is now addicted, ha!), I found a whole bunch of awesome clips I previously forgot about! Woo! And I thought I'd put some cool Jet clips in this too, since he really deserves it, after all the times I've showed him getting completely pwned by Katara... Also, I'm very sorry for the lack of original effects in this one. I was a slave to the beat of the song, and if I added effects to each of those hits like I wanted to, it would be over before you could recognize what the clip was showing. Still, I planned to lower the effect-o-meter a little on this one anyway, since I wanted to emphasize the untainted brilliance of Avatar. Kataang vs. Zutara: Diary of Jane This is a request video I made for someone on livevideo. I heard the song and this story just kind of came with it... so sit back and prepare yourself for a riveting tale. So Katara is with Aang, but she's unhappy, and starts thinking about Zuko and what it would be like if she were with him instead. That's the intro to this song. Next comes Aang's jealousy, saying, "If I had to, I'd put myself right beside you, so tell me, would you like that?". He is basically enraged that Katara could even think about leaving him for Zuko. The rest is Aang and Zuko taking turns and wondering if either of them can ever find their place in the Diary of Jane, in this case, the Diary of Katara. Daughters of the Elements So a few weeks ago I was digging through my DVD collection and I found a movie I used to love... Kill Bill Vol. 1. So, just for the heck of it, I put it in, and in that movie, I found the perfect song. Thank you Mr. Tarantino. Now, this was originally going to be a cool trailer thing for Avatar, but then I realized that Kill Bill really emphasizes its strong female characters, so I figured I'd do the same in my video. I would have included Mai and Ty Lee but this song operates in sets of three (how convenient!). So, it became Katara, Toph, and Azula, the daughters of the elements. All three are bending masters, possibly THE bending masters for their element (at least for their age group), and argueably, these 3 girls are the most deadly characters on the show. You just don't see many videos made for these three girls alone. Oh, and the whole "red-stripe-with-an-eye-in-it" thing was inspired by the credits of "V for Vendetta", which I saw a while ago and I've been wanting to make a video where I could use it ever since. And the slight frame freezes after a hit were meant to be a slight tribute to Martin Scorsese's "Goodfellas", but the song is too short to hold the video in one spot for more than a fraction of a second, so... that effect may have been lost. ...I like movies.
