Clutch playing 'Dragonfly' @ The Oxford Academy, Sep 2008 It was great to see Clutch live at last. I've missed them 3 times when they've played locally. In the end I thought sod it, I'll travel to Oxford and see them. Didn't like the Oxford Academy as a venue at all. I didn't like the barriers separating me from the band, what did they think I was going to do, get on stage and kiss them? But I really didn't like the security guards who stood there aggressively staring at you all through the gig arms folded. One of them even told me to stop filming hence only having one video to share. The venue and the security had mainstream aspirations, the whole atmosphere was mainstream (shivers). Taint @ The Bristol Academy Sep 2008 Great band. Supporting Clutch at The Bristol Academy. I normally try to avoid venues like this because it feels like you are a cow surrounded by cattle. You can never get served or get a good view...and the Oxford Academy lived up to my low expectations. The audience were barricaded off from the band with security guards in your face. This was a medium sized venue with mainstream arena aspirations. Won't be going there again. Taint were as good as always though. Mothertrucker @ The Junction 12 Sep 2008 These were on the bill with Aluna Grifter and Salute and added their talent to an excellent gig. I couldn't record any Salute because they filled the pub with dry ice and turned all the lights off to play their black metal set, but it was really effective. Grifter @ The Junction, Bristol, 12 Sep 2008 Last band on, and I was getting a bit tipsy by now, so much so that I was standing by the PA speaker and didn't notice it, hence there's a little distortion on the vocals even though I had my hand over the camcorder mic. Just imagine he's singing through a fuzz box.
