Running line with a scooter Running line with a scooter at 240' looking for a wreck. When running line with a scooter you hold reel, light, work the inflaters, and nose with the left hand without stopping. Most people hold the light on top, reel under (with the Goodman handles butted together). You can still use the thumb and finger to pinch, etc. Using scooters and reels are standard practice for DIR deep wreck diving. Unless you drop right on the wreck, you tie off anchor and run line searching for the wreck. Here is short video clip of one of the SDUE tech2 teams searching for a wreck traveling at 240' depth.
