Ever). [04/10] I'm fantastically pleased that Peter Mandelson has been brought back overseas to be appointed as the Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform and also the President of the Board of Trade. Detached from my twee and somewhat superficial adulation for the man, I do believe that Brown's decision to re-introduce him to full-time British politics was a sage one. Granted he wasn't brought in because we're doing well (considering we're facing a state of economic disrepair), but at least he's been brought back to palliate some of our workings in Britain's time of need. Like him or dislike him for his frostiness and the (hopefully) now-tired issues with the mortgages, he functioned extremely well in Northern Ireland and Europe and made a good minister overall, in my humbled yet enthusiastic opinion. I may have been far too young to appreciate what he did for Northern Ireland, but in retrospect I thnk he did a lot more than people acknowledge. Placebo - The Bitter End [LIVE on the JONATHAN ROSS SHOW] Placebo playing one of their hit tracks [The Bitter End] live on the 21st March 2003. The single was released on the 10th, and the album from which it hails [Sleeping With Ghosts] was released on the 1st of April - no joke. LYRICS: Since we're feeling so anesthetised In our comfort zone Reminds me of the second time That I followed you home We're running out of alibis From the second of May Reminds me of the summer time On this winter's day See you at the bitter end See you at the bitter end Every step we take that's synchronized Every broken bone Reminds me of the second time That I followed you home You shower me with lullabies As you're walking away Reminds me that it's killing time On this fateful day See you at the bitter end See you at the bitter end See you at the bitter end See you at the bitter end From the time we intercepted Feels more like suicide... What is the meaning of Christmas for you? The title is the essence. Make a video response if you'd like, or obviously you can just comment. It's late [00:37am] and yes - I realise I look awful, but think of it as a visual demonstration of... something... -_-' Also, I did try to speak a lot louder but it is becoming evident (rather quickly) that the webcam is hopeless. *Disclaimer: When I say I enjoy watching my relatives become inebriated via mulled wine, it's my hyperbolic way of saying 'a bit tipsy and rowdy'. Indeed. Tags: Bah Humbug What-ho Shalom Salutat Christmas Anxiety Scrooge Jesus Christ Religion Santa Claus Xmas Child Kid Britain |

Er, Hello there! Be nice. I would have submitted this into ScaredyBlog if it still subsisted considering the level of anxiety I experienced whilst vacillating whether to upload this. My voice goes disturbingly high on camera (assuming you can hear it - you'll inevitably have to turn up your volume level to make this coherent). This is just another one of those "Thank you for watching the videos that I uploaded" tidbits, and to be truthful - an abject waste of time. Think of it as a breakaway E-Card for the holidays. Alan Rickman - The Winter Guest Interview Part 3 The last part of the interview. The Winter Guest (1997) was British actor Alan Rickman's debut as a director, and stars Emma Thompson and Phyllida Law. Sean Biggerstaff (best known for his role as Oliver Wood in a couple of the Harry Potter movie series) is also in it. Set in Scotland (where Sean Biggerstaff was born) on one cold winter's day, The Winter Guest focuses on 8 people; a mother and daughter, Elspeth (Phyllida Law) and Frances (Emma Thompson); two young boys skipping school, Sam (Douglas Murphy) and Tom (Sean Biggerstaff); two old women who frequently go to strangers funerals, Chloe (Sandra Voe) and Lily (Sheila Reid); and two teenagers Nita (Arlene Cockburn) and Alex (Gary Hollywood). The plot of the story is interactions between two young boys, two teenagers, a mother, a grandmother, and two elderly women. It can be said though that the main actor in the film is frozen sea, and the rest of the stories are only surreal background to it. The film is based on Sharman MacDonald's warmly-received play, premiered at the West Yorkshire Playhouse (in the Quarry studio theatre, 23rd January to 18th February 1995) before transferring to the Almeida Theatre in London (14th March to 15th April 1995). Like the film it was also directed by Alan Rickman, starring Phillida Law, Sandra Voe and Sheila Reid, with Sian Thomas in the role of Frances, played in the film by Emma Thompson. But it was "Robin Dons' remarkable set...that grabs you before anything else" (Michael Billington in The Guardian, 25th January 1995): a house interior, promenade and snowbound seascape, which won Don the Design award in the Critics' Circle Theatre Awards in 1995. Life in a Smiley Another little animation from the tainted genius of my 12 year old psyche (Well, that's one way of putting it). This one was never finished, and propagandises pacifism and satirises teenage angst. Obviously dated because Two Jags is no longer in office, and I probably ought to state right now that my opinions of him and Dubya are now somewhat more reserved :P Tags: Smiley Emoticon Flash Animation Smily Bruce Springsteen George Dubya Bush John Prescott Bored Satire Depression Economy |

The Adventures of Adam Ant, King of the Wild Frontier My second flash experiment, when I was around 11, i.e. don't expect a miraculously crafted opus of animation. Unfortunately I hadn't the foggiest how to put music in the background, and have decided not to tamper with it (that's a nice little pretext disguising the fact that the software was removed from this computer and I have no means/am too inert to edit it). Also, the ending has been cut off due to the upload, which is fairly odd as that has not happened to me before... curious. Try to enjoy it - assuming you're not cringing haha!
