GOOD THING - FINE YOUNG CANNIBALS This is a tribute video to one of my all time favorite bands that are no more - Fine Young Cannibals. I was listening to thier great song "Good Thing" the other day when I was trying to pay my bills and suddenly my lovely wife Caroline and I were joking about how Good Thing fits the economic downturn so well. Pretty soon, the old green screen was up and we were jumping around in front of the camera for no good reason at all. It was just a whim but we had such a great time making fun of the economic crisis. We hope you can also have a laugh at the sorry state of things right now too! Unfortunately, American debt has become so large, the dollar will lose a great deal of its value in the future and Americans will not be able to afford the same level of lifestyle enjoyed in the past. Especially when other countries begin to trade in currencies other than the dollar and refuse to buy up our debt. But it was fun while it lasted, no? Perhaps we will look back some day and realize that materialism wasn't all that good for us, or our planet - and we are better off (and happier) living with less. For your viewing pleasure we tried to have some fun referencing some cultural icons for our "sky is falling" visual motif. See if you can catch things like Andy Warhol on the Blackberry, Charlie Chaplin, Johnny Depp from Pirates of the Caribbean, Humpty Dumpty, Jaws, Robin Leach from Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, Martha Stewart, Piper Champagne, the iphone, Batman and Robin, George Bush, Nancy Pelosi, Steve Forbes, Chicken Little, Chuck Norris, Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Reese Witherspoon as Elle Woods from Legally Blonde, George Clooney as the president in a dream, Barack Obama, Wolverine from X-Men, Starbucks coffee. Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman from Casablanca, Yoda from Starwars, and the ladies from Sex in the City HBO series, Frankenstein, Tecate beer, diet coke, and campbell's soup, rollign stone magazine with the lead singer from Fine Young Cannibals on the cover, plus a copy of Grapes of Wrath with Henry Fonda on the cover. Did we miss anything? Let us know! RON PAUL ON BAILOUT Just before the passage of the historic 700 Billion bailout bill passed by Congress, Ron Paul explained why he was voting against the bill. This is not an endorsement or criticism of Ron Paul - just food for thought. I watched most of the debate before the vote and Paul was one of the more interesting speakers. If you have a funny feeling that something is out of whack in the economic freak out going on around the world, this may make some sense. But then again, maybe not. Depends on you! He said: "Madam Speaker I rise in strong opposition to this bill because it won't solve our problem...
