The Democrats caused the entire economic crisis by expansion of the CRA in 1995, forcing banks to give risky loans to people that could not afford to pay them back. Obama was a lawyer that sued banks that did not give 'enough' subprime mortgages. In the Senate he received FOUR TIMES the contributions from Fannie Mae then anyone else. Re: Help us contrive a big project to confront irrationality This is my idea for the next rational response project. We have all heard about the folly and failure of so-called 'abstinence-only' programs and 'virginity pledges'. Well, my idea is to counter these lies and misinformation with a project I call the "no sex before I'm ready pledge". By promoting young people to learn about sex openly, without judgement and without religious bias we will undoubtedly have a positive impact on teen pregnancy and STD rates. This is a real-world, testable case of rationality winning over mythology. This is a rough draft of the pledge I came up with. I hereby pledge to educate myself about sex. Sex is not tied to a number or a legal contract. I will learn the consequences and rewards. I will learn about sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy, and contraception. I will learn about alternatives such as masturbation. I will learn that I am in control of my body. No one else can possibly know when I am ready emotionally to have sex. I will not allow anyone to pressure me into having sex...or not having sex. I will rationally approach the decision with facts and information. I will decide for myself.
