Mott The Hoople - Here Comes The Queen - Santa Monica 1974 Ariel Bender wrote the song and released it on his solo album 'Under Open Skies' and as a single (both under his real name of Luther Grosvenor). Here, he performs it with Mott The Hoople at the Civic Center, Santa Monica, California, USA on 13th April 1974. Prior to Mott The Hoople, Grosvenor had played with several bands, including Spooky Tooth (with Mike Harrison, Greg Ridley, Mike Kellie and Gary Wright) and Stealers Wheel. After Mott, he formed the band Widowmaker, with singer Steve Ellis (previously with U.K. chart-toppers Love Affair), guitarist Hugh Lloyd-Langton (formerly with Hawkwind), Australian bassist Bob Daisley (ex-Khavas Jute, Chicken Shack, and Mungo Jerry), and drummer Paul Nicholls (ex-Lindisfare). The video segments in this presentation were taken from one of my other YouTube videos "Mott The Hoople - All The Way From Memphis - 1973" (and slowed-down, of course).
