Insomnia This is a film I created, filmed, and edited entirely on my own. It's a sort-of music video, or perhaps more of a visual interpretation, for the song "Insomnia" by Wintersleep. It's different from many things I've edited in the past, but I had a lot of fun doing so. I wanted to try and portray the emotions, feelings, and images that one has on those nights where you just can't fall asleep. We've all had them, drifting in and out of consciousness, sometimes unsure of what is real and what isn't. A White Halloween! Now THAT'S Scary! I'm so lame... Yep, up here in Canada it snowed just in time for Halloween. The snow seems to be melting a lot more now, but nonetheless, snow is everywhere! Words of Wisdom - Please Share :) Recently, I've realized how much you can learn about not only someone else, but about yourself, by simply discussing life. It may seem strange, but if we all just gave a bit more advice, encouraged each other to keep pushing on, or simply open up more, lives can be changed. I know this, because over the last year, you all have changed mine. The Road Not Taken (2008) This is a visual interpretation of Robert Frost's poem "The Road Not Taken". I thought I'd do this as an experiment to keep my cinematography/filmmaking skills up-to-par over the summer holidays. Celebrity? ...or Human Being? I worked at the 2008 NHL Awards in Toronto yesterday as a Talent Wrangler and I met some pretty famous people including Alex Ovechkin, Gordie Howe, Alan Doyle (Great Big Sea), and Bob Gainey. I was star-struck I must admit, but as the night went on, their "celebrity status" diminished. Short Film - "The Sun Will Always Rise" (2008) http://www.youtube.com/neonpictures88 This is a short film I wrote, directed, and edited for my final project in my non-linear editing class. It's about a boy who is struggling with his loss of vision after a terrible car crash. He damaged a part of his brain that controls what is sent from the eye to the brain and therefore is totally blind. This film follows his struggles, however, he realizes, with the help of others, that he can actually see the world clearer than ever before. He sees the world unbiasedly, no material things exist to him. He has to feel beauty rather than see it, and feel love rather than see it. A huge thanks to Sean Errey, Christy Farr, and Darius Jones for their help in acting, along with Rob Bradley for lending his house to me for one scene. Make A Video, Save A Life Please tell people about this video and expose it as much as you can. An online friend (Michael) has recently notified me of his depression and specifically wanted to talk to me about it. I tried as much as I could to comfort him, tell him he wasn't alone, but he needs more proof. He needs to know that you are out there and that you care for him and feel for him and even perhaps know what he is going through. I decided I couldn't help him alone, so I made this video in hopes of getting as many responses, whether through reponse videos or comments, as possible. He needs to see how many people out there do actually care for him and he needs to be inspired to change himself and his lfie for the better. He is on the edge, he is worn out, he is barely standing. He and I need your help and I hope that you will take a few minutes out of your day to post your comforting words of wisdom, hope, and inspiration in a short video response.
