About style, Alexandre Dumas and Jules Verne... Dans l'émission télévisuelle française "On n'est pas couché" de Laurent Ruquier, le 03 Novembre 2007, le dernier livre de Bernard Werber, "Le mystère des dieux" est soumis aux "critiques" Eric Zemmour et Eric Naulleau. Celui-ci dit aimer l'histoire mais dénonce le style prétendument "à la truelle" de Bernard Werber. Celui-là en rajoute, donnant en exemple Alexandre Dumas qui d'après lui écrivait des histoires formidables avec style, comme quoi les deux ne seraient pas incompatibles. Bernard Werber, pour se défendre cite un ami de Dumas, Jules Verne, tous deux dénigrés de leur vivant par la majorité des critiques littéraires de l'époque. Eric Naulleau est alors catégorique, "Jules Verne c'est très mal écrit !" Jules Verne "très mal ecrit", Jules Verne "un écrivain pour enfant", etc. Ah! que les préjugés ont la vie dure ! Avant de pouvoir tenter de critiquer un auteur, encore faudrait-il avoir lu une bonne partie de son oeuvre. Je ne pense pas que ce soit le cas d'Eric Naulleau: serait-il capable de nous donner de mémoire ne serait-ce que dix titres de romans de Jules Verne ? Air France Flight 8969 Hijacking and GIGN raid On December 24, 1994 in Algeria four men hijacked Air France Flight 8969 bound to depart for Charles de Gaulle airport, Paris. The four hijackers brandished their AK-47, Uzi, automatic weapons and demanded cooperation from the 220 passengers and 12 flight crew. A negotiation team decided to divert the flight to Marseille International Airport, some five hundred miles south of Paris. After some unsuccessful negotiations, the commandos were forced to storm the cockpit and first class section, where the majority of the hijackers were accumulated. The ensuing firefight injured eleven commandos, thirteen passengers and three members of the crew. The hijackers were all shot dead. Sorry, no sound. This video was taken for French TV channel TF1. Let me say I was a huge fan of Alain Prost and I used to *hate* Senna. However the two could have certainly become friends with time. After Prost retirement, I slowly started to like Senna. I've seen this video on French TV on Sunday morning and again on evening in the news after Senna had died. This video is tragic and used to make me cry sooo bad ! After that doomed week end, I stopped watching Formula 1. Ayrton missed forever, eternal regrets!! Simbin FIA GTR2 Lamborghini Murciélago Monza Lap An "onboard" lap at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza with a Lamborghini Murciélago. You can see on the bottom right a camera pointing at the throttles. Despite having a long history with racing simulations (Papyrus Indycar, Nascar), I'm a beginner at GTR2 (started practicing two weeks ago) ; thus this lap is average: early braking at "Rettifilo", cutting at "Variante della Rogia", understeering at "Lesmo 1", re-cutting at "Variante Ascari" etc. etc. etc. You name it. The video ends right after an oversteering at "Lesmo 2" on the second lap. No I don't crash, it's just that I was running out of tape (SD memory in that case ;o) Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback Wheel, no help of any kind (full realism simulation) and untouched car setup.
